²⁰ He answered them, "Because you have so little faith! For I solemnly say to you, if you have the faith that is living like a grain of mustard, you can say to this mountain, 'Move over from here to yonder,' and it will move over, and nothing will be impossible for you to do."

¹⁶ "For God loved the world so much that He gave His Only Son, so that anyone who trusts in Him may never perish but have eternal life.

⁶ But he must ask in faith, without a doubt, for the man who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is whirled and swayed by the wind.

¹⁹ We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the power of the evil one. ²⁰ And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us insight to recognize the True One; and we are in union with the True One through His Son, Jesus Christ. ¹⁴ Stop forming intimate and inconsistent relations with unbelievers. What partnership can right-doing have with law-breaking, or how can light participate with darkness? ¹⁵ What harmony exists between Christ and Belial, or what is common between a believer and an unbeliever? ¹⁶ And what agreement can a temple of God make with idols? For we are the temple of the living God, just as God said: "I will live in them and walk in them, and I will be their God and they will be my people." ¹⁷ Therefore: "'Come out of company with them, and separate from them,' the Lord has said, 'And stop touching what is unclean; then I will welcome you, ¹⁸ I will be a Father to you, and you will be sons and daughters of mine,' The Lord Almighty said."

³ If anyone teaches different doctrines and refuses to agree with the wholesome messages of our Lord Jesus Christ, the teaching that is in accordance with true religion, ⁴ he is a conceited ignoramus with a morbid appetite for discussions and controversies which lead to envy, quarreling, abuse, base suspicions, ⁵ and perpetual friction between people who are depraved in mind and deprived of truth, who imagine that religion is only a means of gain.

²¹ Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will get into the kingdom of heaven, but only those who practice doing the will of my Father in heaven.

¹⁴ For many are invited, but few are selected."

²⁷ Then He said to Thomas, "Put your finger here and look at my hands, and take your hand and put it in my side, and stop being an unbeliever, but be a believer!" ²⁸ Thomas answered Him, "My Lord and my God!" ²⁹ Jesus said to him, "Is it because you have seen me, Thomas, that you believe? Blessed be those who believe, even though they have not seen me!"

⁵ keeping up the forms of religion but not giving expression to its power. Avoid such people.

¹⁵ Stop loving the world, or the things that are in the world. If anyone persists in loving the world, there is no love for the Father in his heart, ¹⁶ because everything that is in the world, the things that our lower nature and eyes are longing for, and the proud pretensions of life, do not come from the Father, but from the world; ¹⁷ and the world is passing away and with it the evil longings it incites, but whoever perseveres in doing God's will lives on forever.

⁸ For it is by His unmerited favor through faith that you have been saved; it is not by anything that you have done, it is the gift of God.

²² Some people, who continue to waver through doubts, you must pity

¹⁶ He who believes it and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe it will be condemned.

⁴⁸ Whoever persistently rejects me and refuses to accept my teachings has something to judge him -- the very message I have spoken will judge him on the last day.

¹⁸ Whoever trusts in Him is never to come up for judgment, but whoever does not trust in Him has already received his sentence, because he has not trusted in the name of God's only Son. ¹⁹ And the ground for the sentence is this, that the light has come into the world, and yet, because their actions were evil, men have loved darkness more than the light.

¹¹ This is why God sends them a misleading influence till they actually believe what is false, ¹² so that all who have refused to believe the truth but have chosen unrighteousness instead might be condemned.

²³ Jesus said to him, "If there is anything I can do! Everything is possible for him who has faith!" ²⁴ The boy's father at once cried out and said, "I do have faith; help my lack of faith!" ²⁵ Then Jesus, because He saw that a crowd was rushing up to Him, reproved the foul spirit and said to it, "You deaf and dumb spirit, get out of him, I charge you, and never get into him again."
