33 So when you see all these things, you will know that He is right at your door.
Bible verses about "end of days" | Williams
1 As He was leaving the temple, one of His disciples said to Him, "Look, Teacher! What stupendous stones, what beautiful buildings!" 2 Jesus said to him, "Are you looking in wonder at these great buildings? Not one stone will be left here upon another that will not be torn down." 3 As He was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew, in a private group, were asking Him, 4 "When will all this take place? Tell us. And what will be the sign that it is about to be put into effect?" 5 Jesus began to say to them: "Look out that no one misleads you about it. 6 Many will come bearing the name of Messiah, and saying, 'I am He,' and they will mislead many. 7 But when you hear of wars and rumors of war, stop getting alarmed. They have to come, but the end is not yet. 8 For one nation will go to war with another, and one kingdom with another. There will be earthquakes in many places; there will be famines. But this is only the beginning of the agonies. 9 So you must be on the lookout for yourselves; they will turn you over to courts, and to synagogues where you will be beaten, and you must appear before governors and kings for my sake, to testify to them. 10 But before the end comes, the good news must be proclaimed to all the heathen. 11 Now when they take you to court for trial, do not be worrying beforehand about what you should say, but say whatever is given you at that time, for it is not you that will be speaking, but the Holy Spirit. 12 One brother will turn another over to death, and a father his child, and children will take a stand against their parents and have them put to death. 13 You will be hated by everybody, because you bear my name. But whoever bears up to the end will be saved. 14 "So when you see the destructive desecration standing where he has no right to stand" -- let the reader take notice -- "then let those who remain in Judea fly to the hills; 15 let him who is on the roof of his house not go down and go into the house to get anything out of it; 16 let him who is in the field not turn back to get his coat. 17 Alas for the women who are expectant mothers and those who have nursing babies, in those days! 18 And pray that it may not be in winter, 19 for there will be such misery at that time as has never been since the beginning of God's creation, and never will be again. 20 If the Lord had not cut those days short, nobody would have escaped, but for the sake of the people chosen as His own He has cut them short. 21 "If anyone says to you at that time, 'Look! Here is the Christ,' or, 'Look! There He is,' do not believe it. 22 For false Christs and false prophets will announce themselves, and they will do signs and wonders to mislead, if possible, even God's chosen people. 23 So you must be on your guard. I have warned you about it all beforehand. 24 "But in those days, after that misery, the sun will turn dark, the moon will not shed its light, 25 the stars will be falling from the sky, and the powers of the sky will be shaken. 26 And then they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds in overwhelming power and splendor. 27 Then He will send out His angels, and gather His chosen people from the four points of the compass, from one end of the sky to the other. 28 "Now learn what the story of the fig tree means. Just as soon as its branches grow tender, and put forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 29 So when you see all these things taking place, you will know that He is right at the door. 30 I solemnly say to you, the present generation will not pass away before all this takes place. 31 Earth and sky will pass away, but my words will never pass away. 32 But about that day or hour not a single one knows -- not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son; not a single one but the Father. 33 Keep looking, keep alert, for you do not know when the time will be. 34 It will be like a man who leaves his home and goes on a journey, after he has given orders to his slaves, to each his particular task, and has given orders to the watchman to keep watch. 35 So you must keep alert, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming -- in the evening or at midnight or at daybreak or early in the morning -- 36 so that he may not come unexpectedly and find you asleep. 37 And so what I say to you, I say to everybody, keep alert."
18 Little children, it is the last hour, just as you have heard that Antichrist is Coming, and already many Antichrists have appeared; so we may be sure that it is the last hour.
17 then those of us who are still living will be caught up along with them on clouds in the air to meet the Lord, and so we shall be with the Lord forever.
1 A revelation given by Jesus Christ which God gave to Him, to make known to His slaves what must very soon take place. He sent and communicated it through His angel to His slave John,
7 See! He is coming on the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even the men who pierced Him, and all the tribes of the earth will lament over Him. Even so. Amen.
3 While He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came up to Him by themselves, and said, "Tell us when this is to take place, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age." 4 Jesus answered, "Look out that no one misleads you about it, 5 for many will come bearing the name of the Messiah, and saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will mislead many people. 6 You are going to hear of wars and rumors of wars; take care not to be scared out of your wits. They have to come, but that is not the end yet. 7 For nation will go to war with nation, and kingdom with kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in many places. 8 But all this is but the beginning of the agonies. 9 At that time they will turn you over to torture, and will murder you, and you will be hated by all the heathen, because you bear my name. 10 Then many will fall by the way, and will betray one another and hate one another. 11 Many false prophets will appear and mislead many people; 12 and because of the increasing crime wave, most people's love will grow cold. 13 But whoever bears up to the end will be saved. 14 And this good news of the kingdom must be preached all over the inhabited world, for a testimony to all the heathen, and then the end will come.
32 "I solemnly say to you, this generation will not pass away before all this takes place.
1 Now He said to His disciples: "It is inevitable that snares to evil will come, but a curse be on the man through whom they come! 2 It would be better for him to have a millstone hung around his neck, and he be hurled into the sea, than for him to ensnare one of these lowly ones. 3 "Be always looking out for another. If your brother ever sins, reprove him, and if he repents, forgive him. 4 Even if he sins against you seven times in a day and seven times turns to you and says, 'I am sorry,' you must forgive him." 5 Then the apostles said to the Lord, "Give us more faith." 6 Then the Lord said to them, "If you had faith that grows like a mustard seed, you might have been saying to this mulberry tree, 'Pull yourself up by the roots and plant yourself in the sea,' and it would have obeyed you! 7 "What man among you, if he has a slave plowing or tending sheep, will say to him when he comes in from the field, 'Come at once and take your seat at the table,' 8 but will not rather say to him, 'Get my supper ready, and dress yourself and wait on me until I eat and drink, and you yourself can eat and drink afterward'? 9 Does he praise the slave for doing what he was ordered to do? 10 So you too, when you do all that you are ordered to do, say, 'We are worthless slaves; we have done only what we ought to have done.'" 11 As He was going on to Jerusalem, He chanced to pass through Samaria and Galilee. 12 And as He was going into one village, ten lepers met Him, who got up at some distance from Him, 13 and raised their voices and said, "Jesus, Master, do take pity on us!" 14 So as soon as He saw them, He said to them, "Go at once and show yourselves to the priests." And while they were going they were cured. 15 But one of them, when he saw that he was cured, came back, praising God with a loud voice, 16 and fell on his face at Jesus' feet, and continued to thank Him. Now he was a Samaritan. 17 And Jesus said, "Were not ten cured? Where are the other nine? 18 Were none found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?" 19 Then He said to him, "Get up and go on your way. Your faith has cured you." 20 Now, when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them, "The kingdom of God is not coming with visible display, 21 and so people will not say, 'Look! Here it is,' nor, 'There it is,' for the kingdom of God is within you." 22 Then He said to His disciples, "The time will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it. 23 And men will say to you, 'Look! There he is!' or, 'Look! Here He is!' Do not start in pursuit of Him, 24 for just as when the lightning flashes, it shines from one end of the sky to the other, so will the Son of Man be when He comes. 25 But first He has to endure much suffering, and be disowned by this age. 26 And just as it was in the time of Noah, so it will be in the time of the Son of Man. 27 People continued to eat, drink, marry, and be married, right up to the day when Noah went into the ark, and the Flood came and destroyed them all. 28 It was so in the time of Lot; people continued to eat, drink, buy, sell, plant, and build; 29 and the very day Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 It will be so on the day when the Son of Man appears 31 The man who is on the roof of his house that day, and his goods in the house, must not come down to carry them out; and the man in the field, too, must not turn back. 32 Remember Lot's wife! 33 Whoever tries to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses it will preserve it. 34 I tell you, two men will be in the same bed that night; one will be taken, the other left. 35 Two women will be grinding together; one will be taken, the other left." 36 Omitted Text. 37 Then they asked Him, "Where, Lord, will this be?" And He said to them, "Wherever there is carrion the vultures will flock."
10 The day of the Lord will come like a thief; on that day the heavens will pass away with a roar, the heavenly bodies will be destroyed by being burned up, and the earth with all its works will melt away.
3 Blessed be the man who reads them and the people who hear the messages of this prophecy read, and heed what is written in it, for the time is near.
44 So you, too, must continue to be ready, for at an hour you are not expecting Him the Son of Man will come.
13 Also we do not want you to have any misunderstanding, brothers, about those who are falling asleep, so as to keep you from grieving over them as others do who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, then through Jesus, God will bring back with Him those who have fallen asleep. 15 For on the Lord's own authority we say that those of us who may be left behind and are still living when the Lord comes back, will have no advantage at all over those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself, at the summons sounded by the archangel's call and by God's trumpet, will come down from heaven, and first of all the dead in union with Christ will rise, 17 then those of us who are still living will be caught up along with them on clouds in the air to meet the Lord, and so we shall be with the Lord forever. 18 So continue encouraging one another with this truth.
36 But about that day or hour not a single one knows -- not even the angels in heaven or the Son; not a single one but the Father alone.
1 Now you must know that in the last days there are going to be hard times. 2 For people will be selfish, avaricious, boastful, haughty, abusive, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, irreverent, 3 lacking in love for kinsmen, irreconcilable, slanderers, having no self-control, savage, lacking in love for the good, 4 treacherous, reckless, conceited, loving pleasure more than God, 5 keeping up the forms of religion but not giving expression to its power. Avoid such people.
