Bible verses about "confronting" | Williams

Matthew 18:15

15 "Again, if your brother wrongs you, go and while alone with him show him the wrong. If he listens to you, you have won back your brother.

Ephesians 4:29

29 You must stop letting any bad word pass your lips, but only words that are good for building up as the occasion demands, so that they will result in spiritual blessing to the hearers.

Galatians 6:1-18

1 Brothers, if anybody is caught in the very act of doing wrong, you who are spiritual, in the spirit of gentleness, must set him right; each of you continuing to think of yourself, for you may be tempted too. 2 Practice bearing one another's burdens, and in this way carry out the law of Christ. 3 For if anybody thinks he is somebody when really he is nobody, he deceives himself. 4 Everyone should test his own work until it stands the test, and then he will have ground for boasting with reference to himself alone, and not with reference to someone else. 5 For everyone must carry his own load. 6 Those who are taught the truth should share all their goods with the man who teaches them. 7 Do not be deceived anymore; God is not to be scoffed at. A person will reap just what he sows, whatever it is. 8 The person who sows to gratify his lower nature will reap destruction from that lower nature, and the person who sows to gratify his higher nature will reap eternal life from the Spirit. 9 Let us stop getting tired of doing good, for at the proper time we shall reap if we do not give up. 10 So then whenever we have an opportunity, let us practice doing good to everybody, but especially to the members of the family of faith. 11 See what large letters I make, when I write to you with my own hand! 12 These men who are trying to force you to let yourselves be circumcised simply want to make a fine outward show, only to keep you from being persecuted for the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. 13 Indeed, the very men who let themselves be circumcised do not themselves observe the law. But they simply want you to let yourselves be circumcised, so that they can boast of you as members of their party. 14 But may it never be mine to boast of anything but the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me and I to the world! 15 For neither circumcision nor the lack of it has any value, but only a new creation. 16 Now peace and mercy be on all who walk by this rule; that is, on the true Israel of God. 17 Let nobody trouble me after this, for I carry on my body the scars that mark me as Jesus' slave. 18 The spiritual blessing of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers. Amen.

James 5:19-20

19 My brothers, if any one of you has wandered away from the truth, and someone brings him back, 20 you may be sure that whoever brings a sinner back from his evil ways will save the man's soul from death, and cover up a multitude of sins.

2 Timothy 4:2

2 preach the message, stay at it in season and out of season; convince, reprove, exhort people with perfect patience as a teacher.

Galatians 2:11-14

11 Now when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned. 12 For before the coming of certain people from James, he was in the habit of eating with heathen Christians, but after they came, he began to draw back and hold aloof from them, because he was afraid of the circumcision party. 13 The rest of the Jewish Christians, too, joined him in this pretense so that even Barnabas was influenced to join them in their pretense. 14 But when I saw that they were not living up to the truth of the good news, I said to Cephas, and that before them all, "If you are living like a heathen and not like a Jew, although you are a Jew yourself, why do you try to make the heathen live like Jews?"

Ephesians 4:25

25 So you must lay aside falsehood and each of you practice telling the truth to his neighbor, for we are parts of one another.

Galatians 6:1

1 Brothers, if anybody is caught in the very act of doing wrong, you who are spiritual, in the spirit of gentleness, must set him right; each of you continuing to think of yourself, for you may be tempted too.

Matthew 18:15-17

15 "Again, if your brother wrongs you, go and while alone with him show him the wrong. If he listens to you, you have won back your brother. 16 But if he does not listen to you, take along with you one or two others, so as to have every word confirmed by the testimony of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, report it to the church. 17 And if he refuses to listen to the church, treat him as a heathen and as a tax-collector.
