¹⁶ Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

³⁴ But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven, for it is Gods throne: ³⁵ Nor by the earth, for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. ³⁶ Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. ³⁷ But let your communication be Yes, yes; No, no: for whatsoever [is] more than these, cometh of the evil one.

⁴⁵ A good man out of the good treasure of his heart, bringeth forth good: An evil man bringeth forth evil: for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh,

³⁶ But I say unto you, That every idle word that men do speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

¹² But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yes be yes, and [your] no, no; lest ye fall under judgment.

⁴ [Neither] filthiness, [nor] foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. ⁵ For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ, and of God.

²⁹ Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to edification of faith: that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
