Bible verses about "recovery" | Whiston

Luke 14:12-14

12 Then said he also to him that invited him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not [thy] friends, nor thy brethren, nor neighbours, nor the rich, lest they also invite thee again, and a recompence be made thee. 13 But when thou makest a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind; 14 And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompence thee: for thou shalt be recompenced at the resurrection of the just.

John 3:7-18

7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be must be born from above (born again, Vulg.), 8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, or whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. 9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him; How can these things be? 10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? 11 Verily verily I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testifie that we have seen; and ye receive not our testimony. 12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe if I shall tell you heavenly things? 13 And no one hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, the Son of man who is in heaven. 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That every one who believeth in him, should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God hath so loved the world, that he hath given his only begotten Son, that every one who believeth on him, should not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God sent not his Son unto the world to judge the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him shall not be judged: but he that believeth not, is judged already, because he hath not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God.
