1 THE beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ the Son of God, 2 As it is written in Esaias the prophet, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way. 3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the ways of our God, make his paths straight. 4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance, for the remission of sins. 5 And there went out unto him all the country of Judea, and all they of Jerusalem, and were baptized of him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins. 6 And John was clothed with camels hair; and he did eat locusts and wild hony: 7 [7-8] And he said unto them, I indeed baptize you with water; but there cometh one after me who is mightier than I, the latches of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose, and he baptize you with the Holy Ghost. 8 -- 9 And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and shall baptize of John in Jordan. 10 And coming up from the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him. 11 And there was a voice from the heavens, Thou art my beloved Son, In Thee I am well pleased. 12 And immediately the Holy Spirit driveth him out unto the wilderness. 13 And he was in the wilderness forty days and [was] tempted of Satan, and was with the wild beasts, and the angels ministred unto him. 14 Now after that John was delivered up, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 Saying, The times are fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe in the gospel. 16 Now as he passed by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon, and Andrew his brothers casting nets into the sea: for they were fishers, 17 And Jesus said unto them, Come after me, and I will make you become fishers of men. 18 And straightway they forsook all, and followed him. 19 And when he had gone a little further, he saw James [the son] of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets. 20 And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship, with the hired servants, and followed him. 21 And they went into Capharnaum, and straightway on the sabbath he entered into the synagogue, and taught them. 22 And they wer astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes. 23 And there was in the synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out, 24 Saying, What have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the holy one of God. 25 And he rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and go out of the man thou unclean Spirit. 26 And the unclean Spirit went out, When he had torn him, and cryed with a loud voice, he went out of him. 27 And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What doctrine [is] that? Or, what new power is this that he commandeth even the unclean spirits, and they obey him. 28 And immediately his fame went forth unto all the region round about Galilee, 29 And when he was come out of the synagogue, he came into the house of Simon, and Andrew; with James and John. 30 But Simons wifes mother lay sick of a fever, and presently they tell him of her. 31 And he came to her and took her by the hand, and lift her up, and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them. 32 And at even, when the sun was set, they brought onto him all that were ill with diverse diseases, and that that were possessed with dæmons. 33 And the whole city was gathered together at his door. 34 And he healed them, those that had dæmons he cast them out of them, and suffered them not to speak; because they knew him; and he healed many that were ill of diverse diseases, and cast out many dæmons. 35 And in the morning a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed, 36 Then Simon, and they that were with him, followed after him. 37 And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek thee. 38 And he said unto them, Let us go into the next villages, and into the cities, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth. 39 And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out dæmons. 40 And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and saying, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 41 And being angry he put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will, be thou clean, 42 And immediately the leprosie departed from him, and he was cleansed. 43 And he charged him in anger, and forthwith cast him out, 44 And saith unto him, See thou tell it not to any man: but go away, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them. 45 But he went out, and began to publish and to blaze abroad the matter; insomuch that he could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.
Bible verses about "outreach" | Whiston
9 But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the virtues of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
15 But sanctify the Lord Christ in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every one that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you, but with meekness and fear: 16 Having a good conscience; that whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsly accuse your good conversation in Christ.
7 And as ye go, preach, saying, Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out dæmons: freely ye have received, freely give. 9 Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses: 10 Nor bag for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor a staff: for the workman is worthy of his meat. 11 And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter into it, enquire who in it is worthy, and there abide till ye go thence. 12 And when ye come into an house, salute it, saying, Peace be to this house. 13 If the House be worthy, your peace shall be upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you. 14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words: when ye depart out of the city, shake off the dust of your feet.
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked; and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed [thee]? or thisty, and gave [thee] drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took [thee] in? and naked, and clothed [thee]? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer, and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, In as much as ye have done [it] unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done [it] unto me.
8 But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
2 Preach the word, be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine.
19 Go ye now and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them unto the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
