¹³ And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me. ¹⁴ And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge over you? ¹⁵ And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of all sort of covetousness; for life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which a man possesseth. ¹⁶ And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully. ¹⁷ And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do,because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? ¹⁸ And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and make them greater;and there will I collect all my fruits. ¹⁹ And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods; Be merry. ²⁰ But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: [then] whose shall those things be which thou hast provided; ²¹ --

²⁵ Now his older son was in the field: But as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing. ²⁶ And he called one of the servants, and asked what could this be? ²⁷ And he said, Thy brother is come;and thy father hath killed the fatted calf for him, because he hath received him sound. ²⁸ And he was angry, and would not go in: But his father came out, and began to intreat him. ²⁹ And he answering, said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment, and yet thou at no time gavest me a kid, out of the goats, that I might dine with my friends: ³⁰ But for thy son who hath devoured all he had with harlots, when he came thou hast killed the fatted calf. ³¹ And he said unto him, Thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine;

¹⁷ And if children, then fellow heirs; heirs of God, and fellow heirs with Christ: if so be that we suffer with [him], that we may be also glorified together.

⁷ That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

¹⁸ The eyes of your heart being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are, Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, laciviousness, ²⁰ Idolatry, witchcraft, hared, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, ²¹ Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they who do such things, shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

³² And now, I commend you to the Lord, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give [you] an inheritance among all them who are sanctified.

²³ And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; ²⁴ Knowing, that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: ye serve the Lord Christ.

¹¹ In whom also we have been called; being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: ¹² That we should be to the praise of [his] glory, who first hoped in Christ. ¹³ In whom ye also did so, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, ¹⁴ Who is the earnest of our inheritance, until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
