¹³ But he that shall endure to the end, the same shall be saved.

⁴² Watch therefore; for ye know not what hour your Lord cometh.

⁴⁷ And that servant who knew his Lord's will, and prepared not, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

²⁸ And which of you intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and computeth the cost, whether he hath sufficient to finish it?

⁹ Go ye not after them. And when ye shall hear of wars, and commotions, be not terrified; for these things must be first; but the end is not immediately. ¹⁰ Then said he to them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. ¹¹ And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines and pestilences, and there shall be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. ¹² But before all these things they shall lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my names sake. ¹³ And it shall turn to you for a testimony. ¹⁴ Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to premeditate what to answer. For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, ¹⁵ which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay or resist. ¹⁶ But ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolk, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. ¹⁷ And ye shall be hated by all men for my names sake. ¹⁸ But there shall not an hair of your head perish. ¹⁹ In your patience possess ye your souls. ²⁰ And when ye see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. ²¹ Then let them that are in Judea flee to the mountains, and let them that are in the midst of it, depart out, and let not them that are in the countries, enter thereinto. ²² For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. ²³ But wo to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days; for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath on this people. ²⁴ And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden by the Gentiles, till the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. ²⁵ And there shall be signs in the sun, and moon, and stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea roaring and tossing: ²⁶ Men fainting away for fear, and expectation of the things coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. ²⁷ And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud, with power and great glory. ²⁸ Now when these things begin to come to pass, look up and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. ²⁹ And he spake a parable to them, Behold the fig-tree and all the trees. ³⁰ When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of yourselves, that summer is now nigh. ³¹ So likewise when ye see these things come to pass, know that the kingdom of God is nigh. ³² Verily I say unto you, this generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. ³³ Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall in no wise pass away. ³⁴ But take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overloaded with gluttony, and drunkenness, and the cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. ³⁵ For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. ³⁶ Watch ye therefore and pray always, that ye may be counted worthy to escape all these things which will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

¹ I exhort you therefore, brethren, by the tender mercies of God, to present your bodies unto God, a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable, which is your reasonable service. ² And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.

³³ I have spoken these things to you, that ye may have peace in me. In the world ye shall have tribulation; but take courage: I have overcome the world.

¹¹ And do this, knowing the season, that it is high time now to awake out of sleep; for salvation is nearer to us now, then when we first believed.

¹ Then shall the kingdom of heaven be like ten virgins, who taking their lamps, went forth to meet the bridegroom. ² But five of them were wise, and five were foolish. ³ They that were foolish, taking their lamps, took not oil with them. ⁴ But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. ⁵ While the bridegroom delayed, they all slumbered and slept. ⁶ But at midnight there was a cry, Behold the bridegroom cometh: come ye out to meet him. ⁷ Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. ⁸ And the foolish said to the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. ⁹ But the wise answered, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. ¹⁰ And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage; and the door was shut. ¹¹ Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. ¹² But he answering said, Verily I say to you, I know you not. ¹³ Watch therefore; for ye know not the day nor the hour. ¹⁴ For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his servants, and delivered to them his goods. ¹⁵ And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, according to his own ability, and immediately took his journey. ¹⁶ Then he who had received the five talents, went and traded with them, and made them other five talents. ¹⁷ And likewise he that had received the two, he also gained other two. ¹⁸ But he that had received one, went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's mony. ¹⁹ After a long time, the lord of those servants cometh and reckoneth with them. ²⁰ And he that had received the five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Sir, thou deliveredst to me five talents; behold I have gained to them five talents more. ²¹ His lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things; I will set thee over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. ²² He also that had received two talents came and said, Sir, thou deliveredst to me two talents; behold I have gained to them two other talents. ²³ His lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things: I will set thee over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. ²⁴ Then he that had received the one talent came and said, Sir, I knew that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hadst not sown, and gathering whence thou hadst not scattered. ²⁵ And being afraid, I went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, thou hast what is thine. ²⁶ His lord answering said to him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather whence I had not scattered? ²⁷ Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the bankers, and at my coming I should have received my own with interest. ²⁸ Take therefore the talent from him, and give it him who hath ten talents. ²⁹ For to every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not, shall be taken away even what he hath. ³⁰ And cast ye the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. ³¹ When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory. ³² And all nations shall be gathered before him, and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd separateth the sheep from the goats. ³³ And he will set the sheep on his right-hand, and the goats on the left. ³⁴ Then shall the king say to them on his right-hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you, from the foundation of the world. ³⁵ For I was hungry, and ye gave me meat; I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: ³⁶ I was a stranger, and ye took me in; Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me; I was in prison, and ye came to me. ³⁷ Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, and fed thee? Or thirsty, and gave thee drink? ³⁸ When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? Or naked, and clothed thee? ³⁹ Or when saw we thee sick or in prison, and came to thee? ⁴⁰ And the king shall answer and say to them, Verily I say to you, Inasmuch as ye did it to one of the least of these my brethren, ye did it to me. ⁴¹ Then shall he say also to them on his left-hand, Depart from me, ye cursed into the everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. ⁴² For I was hungry, and ye gave me no meat; I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: ⁴³ I was a stranger, and ye took me not in; naked, and ye clothed me not; sick and in prison, and ye visited me not. ⁴⁴ Then shall they also answer him saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not micister to thee? ⁴⁵ Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say to you, inasmuch as ye did it oot to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. ⁴⁶ And these shall go away into everlasting punishment; but the righteous into life everlasting.

⁴⁴ Therefore be ye also ready: for at an hour ye think not, the Son of man cometh.

³⁶ Watch ye therefore and pray always, that ye may be counted worthy to escape all these things which will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

¹⁵ And be always ready to give an answer to every one that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear:
