⁶ Be careful for nothing, but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God: ⁷ And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

¹⁸ I will not leave you orphans; I come to you.

³⁵ Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall affliction, or distress, or persecution, or hunger, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? ³⁶ (As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long, we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.) ³⁷ Nay, in all these things we more than conquer, through him who hath loved us. ³⁸ For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, ³⁹ nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹ Let brotherly love continue. ² Forget not to entertain strangers, for hereby some have entertained angels unawares. ³ Remember them that are in bonds, as being bound with them, and them that suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body. ⁴ Marriage is honourable in all men, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. ⁵ Let your disposition be without covetousness: be content with the things that are present; for he hath said, No, I will not leave thee: verily I will not forsake thee. ⁶ So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper; I will not fear what man can do unto me. ⁷ Remember them that had the rule over you, who spake to you the word of God, whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. ⁸ Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and to day and for ever. ⁹ Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines; for it is good, that the heart be stablished with grace, not with meats, in which they that have walked have not been profited. ¹⁰ We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat who serve the tabernacle. ¹¹ For the bodies of those beasts whose blood is brought into the holy place by the high priest for sin, are burnt without the camp. ¹² Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people by his own blood, suffered without the gate. ¹³ Let us then go forth to him without the camp, bearing his reproach. ¹⁴ For we have here no continuing city; but we seek one to come. ¹⁵ By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise continually to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to his name. ¹⁶ But to do good, and to distribute, forget not; for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. ¹⁷ Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves; for they watch over your souls, as they that must give account; that they may do this with joy, and not with groans: for that is unprofitable for you. ¹⁸ Pray for us; for we trust we have a good conscience, desiring to behave ourselves well in all things. ¹⁹ And I beseech you to do this the more earnestly, that I may be restored to you the sooner. ²⁰ Now the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep, our Lord Jesus, by the blood of the everlasting covenant, ²¹ Make you perfect in every good work, to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight thro' Christ Jesus; to whom be the glory for ever and ever. Amen. ²² I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation; for I have written a letter to you in few words. ²³ Know that our brother Timotheus is set at liberty, with whom, if he come soon, I will see you. ²⁴ Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. ²⁵ They of Italy salute you. Grace be with you all.

¹⁶ At my first defence no man was with me, but all forsook me: may it not be laid to their charge? ¹⁷ But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me, that through me the preaching might be fully known, even that all nations might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. ¹⁸ And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom; to whom be the glory for ever, and ever.
