⁴ And he answering said to them, Have ye not read, that he who made them, made them male and female from the beginning? ⁵ And said, For this cause a man shall leave father and mother and cleave to his wife, and they twain shall be one flesh? ⁶ Wherefore they are no more twain but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

¹⁸ Whosoever putteth away his wife and marrieth another, committeth adultery; and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband, committeth adultery.

² For the married woman is bound to her husband while he is alive; but if her husband be dead, she is freed from the law of her husband.

¹⁸ Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doth, is without the body; but he that committeth fornication, sinneth against his own body.

²⁸ But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh upon a woman to lust after her, hath already committed adultery with her in his heart.

³¹ It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of Divorce. ³² But I say unto you, whosoever shall put away his wife, save for the cause of whoredom, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away, committeth adultery.

⁴ Marriage is honourable in all men, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
