²³ His lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things: I will set thee over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

⁴ But if thou dost that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain; for he is the servant of God, an avenger for wrath against him that doth evil.

¹² But the hireling, who is not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: so the wolf seizeth them, and scattereth the flock.

⁹ And ye masters, do the same things to them, forbearing threatning, knowing that your master is in heaven, and there is no respect of persons with him.

¹⁰ For when we were with you, this we commanded you, If any will not work, neither let him eat.

¹⁰ He that is faithful in the least, is faithful also in much; and he that is unjust in the least, is unjust also in much.

⁵ Servants, obey your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of heart, as unto the Lord: ⁶ Not with eye-service, as men-pleasers, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, ⁷ With good will doing service as unto the Lord, and not to men: ⁸ Knowing that whatsoever good each man doth, the same shall he receive from the Lord, whether he be a servant or free. ⁹ And ye masters, do the same things to them, forbearing threatning, knowing that your master is in heaven, and there is no respect of persons with him.

¹⁸ For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn: and, The labourer is worthy of his reward.

¹ Masters, give your servants that which is just and equitable, knowing that ye also have a master in heaven.

²² Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eye-service, as men-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing God. ²³ And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men: Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance; ²⁴ for ye serve the Lord Christ. ²⁵ But he that doth wrong, shall receive for the wrong he hath done; and there is no respect of persons.

⁴ Now to him that worketh, the reward is not reckoned of grace, but of debt.

⁴ Behold the hire of your labourers who have reaped your fields, which is kept back by you, crieth: and the cries of them who have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabbaoth.

²³ And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men: Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance;
