²⁴ Then said Jesus to his disciples, If any man be willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me. ²⁵ For whosoever will save his life, shall lose it, and whosoever will lose his life for my sake, shall find it.

³⁴ A new commandment I give you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. ³⁵ By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

⁴⁰ The disciple is not above his master, but every one that is perfected, shall be as his master.

¹ I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit, he taketh away; ² and every one that beareth fruit, he purifieth it, that it may bear more fruit. ³ Now ye are pure thro' the word which I have spoken to you. ⁴ Abide in me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abide in the vine, so neither can ye, unless ye abide in me. ⁵ I am the vine, ye are the branches. He that abideth in me and I in him, he beareth much fruit; but, separate from me, ye can do nothing. ⁶ If any one abide not in me, he is cast out as a branch, and is withered: and they gather and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. ⁷ If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask whatsoever ye will, and it shall be done for you. ⁸ Hereby is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit: so shall ye be my disciples. ⁹ As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you. ¹⁰ Abide ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love, even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. ¹¹ I have spoken these things to you, that my joy might remain in you, and your joy might be full. ¹² This is my commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you. ¹³ No one hath greater love than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. ¹⁴ Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. I no longer call you servants, ¹⁵ for the servant knoweth not what his lord doth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard from my Father, I have made known to you. ¹⁶ Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and appointed you that ye may go and bear fruit, and your fruit may remain; that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. ¹⁷ This I command you, that ye love one another.

²⁶ If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

³³ So every one of you, who forsaketh not all that he hath, cannot be my disciple.

¹ Be ye followers of me, as I also am of Christ.

¹ But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine, That the aged men be vigilant, ² serious, prudent, sound in faith, love, patience: ³ That the aged women in like manner, be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things: ⁴ That they instruct the young women to be wise, to love their husbands, ⁵ to love their chidren, Discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. ⁶ The young men likewise exhort to be discreet, In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works, ⁷ in doctrine, uncorruptness, seriousness, Sound speech that cannot be reproved; ⁸ that he who is on the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of us.

³¹ Then said Jesus to the Jews who believed on him, If ye continue in my word, ye are my disciples indeed: ³² And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

²³ And he said to all, if any man be willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow me.

⁴² And they continued stedfast in the teaching of the apostles, and the fellowship, and the breaking of bread, and the prayers.

² And the things which thou hast heard from me before many witnesses, these commit to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.

¹¹ And he gave some apostles, and some prophets, and some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers; ¹² For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, to the edifying the body of Christ; ¹³ Till we all come to the unity of the faith and knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: ¹⁴ That we may be no longer children, fluctuating to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the slight of men, by cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive: ¹⁵ But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, who is the head, even Christ: ¹⁶ From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted, by that which every joint supplieth according to the effectual working in the measure of every member, maketh increase of the body, to the edifying of itself in love. ¹⁷ This therefore I say and testify in the Lord, that ye no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles, in the vanity of your mind:

¹⁴ Ye are the light of the world. ¹⁵ A city that is situated on a mountain cannot be hid. Neither do they light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick, and it giveth light to all that are in the house. ¹⁶ Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

²⁷ And whosoever doth not bear his cross and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

¹⁸ And Jesus came and spake to them, saying, All power is given me in heaven and in earth. ¹⁹ Go ye and disciple all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. ²⁰ Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and lo I am with you always, even to the end of the world.
