¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him, may not perish, but have everlasting life.

³¹ But these are written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing ye may have life thro' his name.

¹ And when the day of Pentecost was come, they were all with one accord in one place. ² And suddenly there was a sound from heaven, as of a rushing, violent wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. ³ And there appeared to them distinct tongues, as of fire; and it sat upon each of them. ⁴ And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

¹⁴ And the apostles who were at Jerusalem, hearing that Samaria had received the word of God, sent to them Peter and John: ¹⁵ Who being come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost. ¹⁶ For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they had been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. ¹⁷ Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

⁶ Wherefore I put thee in remembrance, to stir up the gift of God which is in thee, by the laying on of my hands.

²² And having said this, he breathed on them, and saith to them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost.
