²¹ Not every one that saith to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doth the will of my Father who is in heaven. ²² Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name, and in thy name have cast out devils, and in thy name have done many wonderful works? ²³ And then will I declare to them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

¹⁸ And I say also to thee, Thou art Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

¹ Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

⁵⁰ I am the living bread which came down from heaven: ⁵¹ If any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever, and the bread that I will give, is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. ⁵² The Jews then debated among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? ⁵³ But Jesus said to them, Verily, verily I say unto you, unless ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. ⁵⁴ He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. ⁵⁵ For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. ⁵⁶ He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, abideth in me, and I in him. ⁵⁷ As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father, so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. ⁵⁸ This is the bread which came down from heaven; not as your fathers ate manna, and died: he that eateth of this bread, shall live for ever. ⁵⁹ These things he said in the synagogue, teaching at Capernaum. ⁶⁰ Many of his disciples hearing it, said, This is an hard saying: who can hear it? ⁶¹ Jesus knowing in himself that his disciples murmured about this, said to them, Doth this offend you? ⁶² What if ye shall see the Son of man ascend where he was before? ⁶³ It is the Spirit that quickeneth: the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I have spoken, they are spirit and they are life. ⁶⁴ But there are some of you who believe not. (For Jesus had known from the beginning, who they were that believed not, and who would betray him.) ⁶⁵ Therefore said I to you, That no man can come to me, unless it be given him by my Father. ⁶⁶ From this time many of his disciples went back and walked no more with him. ⁶⁷ Then said Jesus to the twelve, Are ye also minded to go away? ⁶⁸ Then Simon Peter answered him, saying, Lord, to whom shall we go? ⁶⁹ Thou hast the words of eternal life. And we have believed and known, that thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. ⁷⁰ Jesus answered them, Have I not chosen you twelve? Yet one of you is a devil. ⁷¹ He spake of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon; for he it was that would betray him, being one of the twelve.

¹⁵ Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions, which ye have been taught, whether by word, or by our Epistle.

⁵ For there is one God, one mediator also between God and men,
