Bible verses about "birthdays" | Wesley

Matthew 1:18

18 Now the birth of Christ was on this wise: His mother Mary, being espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

Matthew 14:6-12

6 But when Herod's birth-day was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them and pleased Herod. 7 Whereupon he promised with an oath, to give her whatever she should ask. And being before instructed by her mother, 8 she said, Give me here John the Baptist's head in a charger. 9 And the king was sorry; yet for the oath's sake, and them who sat with him at table, he commanded it to be given her. 10 And he sent and beheaded John in the prison. And his head was brought in a charger, 11 and given to the damsel, and she carried it to her mother. 12 And his disciples came and took up the body, and buried it, and went and told Jesus.

Romans 14:5

5 One man esteemeth one day above another; another esteemeth every day alike; let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

Romans 8:7

7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Romans 8:1-14

1 Therefore there is now no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath freed me from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God hath done: sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, to be a sacrifice for sin, he hath condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 5 They that are after the flesh, mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 Now to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace: 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they who are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if the Spirit of God dwell in you. And if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10 Now if Christ be in you, the body indeed is dead because of sin, but the spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead, will also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. 12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die; but if ye through the Spirit mortify the deeds of the flesh, ye shall live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the Sons of God.

Ephesians 2:8-9

8 For by grace ye are saved through faith; and this not of yourselves: 9 it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Matthew 14:6

6 But when Herod's birth-day was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them and pleased Herod.
