3 H4735 His substance H7651 also was seven H505 thousand H6629 sheep H7969 , and three H505 thousand H1581 camels H2568 , and five H3967 hundred H6776 yoke H1241 of oxen H2568 , and five H3967 hundred H860 female donkeys H3966 , and a very H7227 great H5657 household H376 ; so that this man H1419 was the greatest H1121 of all the men H6924 of the east.

Thus did H347 Job H3117 continually.

6 H3117 Now there was a day H1121 when the sons H430 of God H935 [H8799] came H3320 [H8692] to present H3068 themselves before the LORD H7854 , and Satan H935 [H8799] came H8432 also among them.

7 H3068 And the LORD H559 [H8799] said H7854 to Satan H370 , From where H935 [H8799] comest H7854 thou? Then Satan H6030 [H8799] answered H3068 the LORD H559 [H8799] , and said H7751 [H8800] , From going to and fro H776 on the earth H1980 [H8692] , and from walking up and down upon it.

8 H3068 And the LORD H559 [H8799] said H7854 to Satan H7760 H3820 [H8804] , Hast thou considered H5650 my servant H347 Job H776 , that there is none like him on the earth H8535 , a perfect H3477 and an upright H376 man H3373 , one that feareth H430 God H5493 [H8802] , and turneth away from H7451 evil?

9 H7854 Then Satan H6030 [H8799] answered H3068 the LORD H559 [H8799] , and said H347 , Doth Job H3372 [H8804] fear H430 God H2600 for nothing?

10 H7753 [H8804] Hast not thou made an hedge H1157 about him, and about H1004 his house H5439 , and about all that he hath on every side H1288 [H8765] ? thou hast blessed H4639 the work H3027 of his hands H4735 , and his substance H6555 [H8804] is increased H776 in the land.

11 H199 But H7971 [H8798] put forth H3027 thy hand H5060 [H8798] now, and touch H1288 H3808 [H8762] all that he hath, and he will curse H6440 thee to thy face.

12 H3068 And the LORD H559 [H8799] said H7854 to Satan H3027 , Behold, all that he hath is in thy power H7971 [H8799] ; only upon himself put not forth H3027 thy hand H7854 . So Satan H3318 [H8799] went forth H6440 from the presence H3068 of the LORD.

13 H3117 And there was a day H1121 when his sons H1323 and his daughters H398 [H8802] were eating H8354 [H8802] and drinking H3196 wine H1060 in their eldest H251 brother's H1004 house:

16 H1696 [H8764] While he was yet speaking H935 [H8802] , there came H559 [H8799] also another, and said H784 , The fire H430 of God H5307 [H8804] hath fallen H8064 from heaven H1197 [H8799] , and hath burned up H6629 the sheep H5288 , and the servants H398 [H8799] , and consumed H4422 [H8735] them; and I only have escaped H5046 [H8687] alone to tell thee.
