¹⁴ For many are called, but few chosen.”

²⁰ If the Lord did not cut those days short, no one would be saved; but for the sake of the elect, whom He chose, He did shorten the days. ²¹ “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’, ‘Look, there!’, do not believe it; ²² because false christs and false prophets will be raised up, and they will show signs and wonders so as to even mislead the elect, if that were possible. ²³ So you watch out! ⁷⁰ He said to them, “Did I myself not choose you twelve? Yet one of you is a devil.”

⁴⁸ Now upon hearing this, the Gentiles rejoiced and glorified the word of the Lord; and as many as had been appointed to eternal live believed.

²⁸ Further, we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to purpose.

¹⁵ But when God—who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace—resolved

¹² Therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, put on hearts of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience;

²⁸ Further, we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to purpose. ²⁹ Because whom He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers. ³⁰ Further, whom He predestined, these He also called; and whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

⁹ But you are a chosen family, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a private-property people, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

⁴ just as He\up6 [F]\up0 chose us in Him\up6 [S]\up0 before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him\up6 [F]\up0, in love, ⁵ having predestined us into an adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, into Him\up6 [S]\up0, according to the good pleasure of His\up6 [F]\up0 will,

¹⁶ It wasn’t you who chose me but I who chose you, and I appointed you so that you should go and produce fruit, and that your fruit should endure, so that whatever you may ask the Father in my name He may give you.
