Do not even the tax collectors do the same? ⁴⁷ And if you greet only your friends, what are you doing extra? Do not even the tax collectors do so? ⁴⁸ Therefore, you be perfect just as your Father in the heavens is perfect.

⁷ Because God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but of power and of love and of self-control.
