¹ "Judge not, that you may not be judged; ² for your own judgement will be dealt--and your own measure meted--to yourselves. ³ And why do you look at the splinter in your brother's eye, and not notice the beam which is in your own eye? ⁴ Or how say to your brother, 'Allow me to take the splinter out of your eye,' while the beam is in your own eye? ⁵ Hypocrite, first take the beam out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly how to remove the splinter from your brother's eye.

³ For through the authority graciously given to me I warn every individual among you not to value himself unduly, but to cultivate sobriety of judgement in accordance with the amount of faith which God has allotted to each one.

¹² Clothe yourselves therefore, as God's own people holy and dearly loved, with tender-heartedness, kindness, lowliness of mind, meekness, long-suffering; ¹³ bearing with one another and readily forgiving each other, if any one has a grievance against another. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, you also must forgive. ¹⁴ And over all these put on love, which is the perfect bond of union;

²⁹ Let no unwholesome words ever pass your lips, but let all your words be good for benefiting others according to the need of the moment, so that they may be a means of blessing to the hearers.
