¹ I will stand at my watch, and set myself on the ramparts, and will look out to see what he will say to me, and what I will answer concerning my complaint. ² The LORD answered me, "Write the vision, and make it plain on tablets, that he who runs may read it. ³ For the vision is still for an appointed time, but it speaks to the end, and it does not lie. Though it lingers, wait for it; because it will surely come. It will not tarry.

²⁹ Peter and the other Apostles replied, "We must obey God rather than man.

²³ Whatever you do, do it with all your heart, as work for the Lord and not for men, ²⁴ because you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as your reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

²⁰ In a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of clay; some for noble purposes, and some for ignoble. ²¹ If anyone cleanses himself from what is ignoble, he will be a vessel for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.

¹⁶ "No one lights a lamp and hides it under a bowl or puts it under a bed. Instead, he puts it on a lamp stand so that those who come in will see the light.

³ For it is God’s will that you should be dedicated to Him, [that is], you should avoid sexual immorality. ⁴ that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, ⁵ not in the passion of lust like the heathen, who do not know God;

⁷ Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

¹ And one of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried to Elisha, saying, Your servant my husband is dead; and you know that your servant feared the Lord; and the creditor has come to take my two sons to be his servants. ² Elisha said to her, “What should I do for you? Tell me: what do you have in the house?” She said, “Your servant has nothing in the house, except a pot of oil.” ³ Then he said, "Go, borrow containers from of all your neighbors, even empty containers. Do not borrow just a few. ⁴ Then go in and shut the door behind you, taking only your children, and pour oil into all of the pots. As each one is filled, set it aside." ⁵ So she went from him, and she shut the door behind her and her children. They were bringing containers to her, and she kept pouring. ⁶ When the last of the vessels had been filled, she told her son, "Bring me another pot!" But he replied, "There isn't even one pot left." Then the oil stopped flowing. ⁷ So she came and told the man of God, and he said, "Go, sell the olive oil and repay your debt. You and your sons can live on what is left over."

⁷ Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with honor as the weaker partner, since you are joint heirs of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.

⁷ But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.

¹⁹ Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; ²⁰ you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God with your body.
