¹ Let not your hearts be troubled. Trust in God: trust also in me.

³ For though we live in the flesh, we do not wage war as the flesh does.

¹ Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, ² through whom we have obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in our hope of the glory of God. ³ Not only that, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; ⁴ perseverance, character; and character, hope. ⁵ And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us. ⁶ For at just the right time, while we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.

¹⁴ But thanks be to God, who always leads us triumphantly as captives in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him.
