¹ The LORD is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid? ² When evildoers drew near against me To devour my flesh, They who were to me my foes and my enemies, They stumbled and fell." ³ Though an army is deployed against me, my heart shall not fear. Though war should rise against me, even then I will be confident. ⁴ One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple ⁵ Because in the day of trouble he will hide me in his shelter. He will hide me in the covering of his tabernacle He will lift me up upon a rock. ⁶ Now my head will be lifted up above my enemies, even those who surround me. I will sacrifice in his tent with shouts of joy; I will sing and make melodies to the LORD. ⁷ Hear, O LORD, my voice when I call, and be gracious to me and answer me. ⁸ My heart says to You, Seek my face; Your face, O LORD, I will seek; ⁹ Do not hide your face from me; do not turn your servant away in anger. You have been my help; do not abandon nor forsake me, O God of my salvation. ¹⁰ When my father and my mother forsake me, then LORD will take me up. ¹¹ Teach me your way, LORD. Lead me in a straight path, because of my enemies. ¹² Do not deliver me over to the desire of my adversaries, for false witnesses have risen up against me, such as breathe out violence. ¹³ I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. ¹⁴ Wait for the LORD; be strong and let thy heart take courage: yea, wait for the LORD.

³ You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you: because he trusts in you.

¹⁷ "Weapons forged against you will not prevail! You will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD and this is their vindication from me," declares the LORD.

⁷ endures all, trusts all, hopes all, abides all:

²⁸ And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who are called according to his purpose.

⁷ And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

¹⁶ Be joyful always, ¹⁷ Pray continually! ¹⁸ give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

¹⁵ For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the spirit of sonship, in which we cry, Abba, Father.

¹⁰ Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. ¹¹ Put on the full armor of God, so that you can make your stand against the devil’s schemes. ¹² For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this world’s darkness, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. ¹³ Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to withstand it; and after you have done everything, to stand firm. ¹⁴ Stand firm then, with the belt of truth fastened around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness arrayed, ¹⁵ and with your feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace. ¹⁶ In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. ¹⁷ Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. ¹⁸ Pray in the Spirit at all times, with every kind of prayer and petition. To this end, stay alert with all perseverance in your prayers for all the saints. ¹⁹ Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, divine utterance may be given me, so that I will boldly make known the mystery of the gospel, ²⁰ for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it fearlessly, as I should.

³ For though we live in the flesh, we do not wage war as the flesh does. ⁴ The weapons of our warfare are not the weapons of the world. Instead, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. ⁵ We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ,

⁶ So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"

¹ He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. ² I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust." ³ Surely He will deliver you from the fowler's trap and from the destroying plague. ⁴ He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart. ⁵ You shall not fear the terror of night, of the arrow that flies by day; ⁶ for the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor for the destruction that wastes at noonday. ⁷ A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it will not come near you. ⁸ You will only look with your eyes, and see the punishment of the wicked. ⁹ For thou, O the LORD, my trust; thou didst set the Most High thy refuge. ¹⁰ No harm will befall you, and no plague will come near your tent. ¹¹ For he will command his angels concerning you, to watch over you in all your ways. ¹² they will bear you up in their hands, so that you won't dash your foot against a stone. ¹³ You will tread upon the lion and the viper. You will trample the young lion and the serpent underfoot. ¹⁴ Because he loves me, therefore I will deliver him; I will protect him because he knows my name. ¹⁵ He will call upon me and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him and honor him. ¹⁶ With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.

¹⁸ There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. And he who fears is not made perfect in love.

⁹ Haven't I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don't be afraid. Don't be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

⁵ Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not to your own understanding.

⁷ For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power and love and self-discipline.

⁶ Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. ⁷ And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
