⁶ Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

⁸ For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, ⁹ not by works, so that no one can boast. ¹⁰ For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life.

Who can accept it?” ⁶¹ Aware that His disciples were grumbling about this teaching, Jesus asked them, “Does this offend you? ⁶² "What if you see the Son of man ascending where he was before? ⁶³ The Spirit gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life. ⁶⁴ However, there are some of you who do not believe.” (For Jesus had known from the beginning which of them did not believe and who would betray Him.) ⁶⁵ Then Jesus said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to Me unless the Father has granted it to him.” ⁶⁶ From this time many of his disciples went back and no longer walked with him. ⁶⁷ So Jesus said to the Twelve: "Do you also wish to leave me?" ⁶⁸ Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. ⁶⁹ "We believe and know that you are the Holy One of God." ⁷⁰ Jesus answered them, “Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil!” ⁷¹ He meant Judas the son of Simon Iscariot, for he, though he was one of the Twelve, was going to betray him.
