24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
Bible verses about "immorality" | UKJV
1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with you. 2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of your eye. 3 Bind them upon your fingers, write them upon the table of your heart. 4 Say unto wisdom, You are my sister; and call understanding your kinswoman: 5 That they may keep you from the strange woman, from the stranger which flatters with her words. 6 For at the window of my house I looked through my casement, 7 And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding, 8 Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house, 9 In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night: 10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtle of heart. 11 (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house: 12 Now is she without, now in the streets, and lies in wait at every corner.) 13 So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an shameless face said unto him, 14 I have peace offerings with me; this day have I paid my vows. 15 Therefore came I forth to meet you, diligently to seek your face, and I have found you. 16 I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt. 17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon. 18 Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves. 19 For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey: 20 He has taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed. 21 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him. 22 He goes after her immediately, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks; 23 Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hastes to the snare, and knows not that it is for his life. 24 Hearken unto me now therefore, O all of you children, and attend to the words of my mouth. 25 Let not your heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths. 26 For she has cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her. 27 Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.
2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
21 And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall mourn for many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed.
32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause (o. logos) of fornication, causes her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced commits adultery.
5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.
13 There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that all of you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that all of you may be able to bear it.
3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becomes saints;
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.
20 And he said, That which comes out of the man, that defiles the man. 21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man does is without the body; but he that commits fornication sins against his own body.
4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, worldy jealousies, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
