¹¹ For he shall give his angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. ¹² They shall bear you up in their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone. ¹³ You shall tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shall you trample under feet.

¹ O lord, you have searched me, and known me. ² You know my sitting down and mine rising up, you understand my thought far off. ³ You compass my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. ⁴ For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, you know it altogether. ⁵ You have beset me behind and before, and laid your hand upon me. ⁶ Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it. ⁷ Where shall I go from your spirit? or where shall I flee from your presence? ⁸ If I ascend up into heaven, you are there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, you are there. ⁹ If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; ¹⁰ Even there shall your hand lead me, and your right hand shall hold me. ¹¹ If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. ¹² Yea, the darkness hides not from you; but the night shines as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to you. ¹³ For you have possessed my reins: you have covered me in my mother's womb. ¹⁴ I will praise you; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are your works; and that my soul knows right well. ¹⁵ My substance was not hid from you, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the low parts of the earth. ¹⁶ your eyes did see my substance, yet being imperfect; and in your book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. ¹⁷ How precious also are your thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! ¹⁸ If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with you. ¹⁹ Surely you will slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, all of you bloody men. ²⁰ For they speak against you wickedly, and your enemies take your name in vain. ²¹ Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate you? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against you? ²² I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies. ²³ Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: ²⁴ And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

⁴ And it shall be, when he lies down, that you shall mark the place where he shall lie, and you shall go in, and uncover his feet, and lay you down; and he will tell you what you shall do.

³⁶ You have enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.

² He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my activities.

⁷ And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf's foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass.

And he says, Master, say on. ⁴¹ There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty. ⁴² And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most? ⁴³ Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, You have rightly judged. ⁴⁴ And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, See you this woman? I entered into your house, you gave me no water for my feet: but she has washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head. ⁴⁵ You gave me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in has not ceased to kiss my feet. ⁴⁶ My head with oil you did not anoint: but this woman has anointed my feet with ointment. ⁴⁷ Wherefore I say unto you, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little. ⁴⁸ And he said unto her, Your sins are forgiven. ⁴⁹ And they that sat at food with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgives sins also? ⁵⁰ And he said to the woman, Your faith has saved you; go in peace.

¹ And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and showing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him, ² And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits (o. pneuma) and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils, ³ And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.

¹⁵ And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

³³ He makes my feet like hinds' feet, and sets me upon my high places.

¹ Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. ² But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law does he meditate day and night. ³ And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he does shall prosper. ⁴ The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. ⁵ Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. ⁶ For the LORD knows the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

³⁹ And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word. (o. logos)

⁴ He rises from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. ⁵ After that he pours water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. ⁶ Then comes he to Simon Peter: and Peter says unto him, Lord, do you wash my feet? ⁷ Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do you know not now; but you shall know hereafter. ⁸ Peter says unto him, You shall never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash you not, you have no part with me. ⁹ Simon Peter says unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. ¹⁰ Jesus says to him, He that is washed needs not save to wash his feet, but is clean everything: and all of you are clean, but not all. ¹¹ For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, All of you are not all clean. ¹² So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know all of you what I have done to you? ¹³ All of you call me Master and Lord: and all of you say well; for so I am. ¹⁴ If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; all of you also ought to wash one another's feet.

³² For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God? ³³ God is my strength and power: and he makes my way perfect. ³⁴ He makes my feet like hinds' feet: and sets me upon my high places. ³⁵ He teaches my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

¹³ And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.

⁷ How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that brings good tidings, that publishes peace; that brings good tidings of good, that publishes salvation; that says unto Zion, Your God reigns!

¹⁰⁵ Your word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
