⁸ This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.

⁹⁹ I have more understanding than all my teachers: for your testimonies are my meditation.

²⁹ See you a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.

⁹ And this I pray, that your love (o. agape) may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; ¹⁰ That all of you may approve things that are excellent; that all of you may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ.

³ According as his divine power has given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that has called us to glory and virtue: ⁴ Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these all of you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

⁷ Therefore, as all of you abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, (o. logos) and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love (o. agape) to us, see that all of you abound in this grace also.

⁷ In all things showing yourself a pattern of good works: in doctrine showing incorruptness, gravity, sincerity,

²³ And whatsoever all of you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

⁸ Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

³ Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.
