⁷ When one of thi brethern amonge you is waxed poore in any of thi cities within thi lode which the Lorde thi God geueth the, se that thou harden not thine hert nor shetto thyne hande from thi poore brother: ⁸ But open thyne hande vnto him and lende him sufficient for his nede which he hath. ⁹ And beware that there be not a poynte of Belial in thine hert, that thou woldest saye. The seuenth yere, the yere of fredome is at honde, and therfore it greue the to loke on thy poore brother and geuest him nought and he then crye vnto the Lorde agenst the and it be synne vnto the: ¹⁰ But geue him, and let it not greue thine hert to geue. Because that for that thinge, the Lorde thy God shall blesse the in all thi workes and in all that thou puttest thine hande to. ¹¹ For the londe shall neuer be without poore. Wherfore I comaunde the sayenge: open thine hande vnto thi brother that is neady ad poore in thy lande.

⁴² Geve to him that axeth and fro him that wolde borowe tourne not awaye.

³⁸ Geve and yt shalbe geven vnto you: good measure pressed doune shaken to geder and runnynge over shall men geve into youre bosomes. For with what measure ye mete with ye same shall men mete to you agayne.

² Be not forgetfull to lodge straungers. For therby have dyvers receaved angels into their houses vnwares.

¹ Though I spake with the tonges of me and angels and yet had no love I were eve as soundinge brasse: or as a tynklynge Cymball. ² And though I coulde prophesy and vnderstode all secretes and all knowledge: yee yf I had all fayth so that I coulde move moutayns oute of ther places and yet had no love I were nothynge. ³ And though I bestowed all my gooddes to fede ye poore and though I gave my body even that I burned and yet had no love it profeteth me nothinge. ⁴ Love suffreth longe and is corteous. Love envieth not. Love doth not frowardly swelleth not dealeth ⁵ not dishonestly seketh not her awne is not provoked to anger thynketh not evyll ⁶ reioyseth not in iniquite: but reioyseth in ye trueth ⁷ suffreth all thynge beleveth all thynges hopeth all thynges endureth in all thynges. ⁸ Though that prophesyinge fayle other tonges shall cease) or knowledge vanysshe awaye yet love falleth never awaye ⁹ For oure knowledge is vnparfect and oure prophesyinge is vnperfet. ¹⁰ But when yt which is parfect is come then yt which is vnparfet shall be done awaye. ¹¹ When I was a chylde I spake as a chylde I vnderstode as a childe I ymagened as a chylde. But assone as I was a man I put awaye childesshnes. ¹² Now we se in a glasse even in a darke speakynge: but then shall we se face to face. Now I knowe vnparfectly: but then shall I knowe even as I am knowen. ¹³ Now abideth fayth hope and love even these thre: but the chefe of these is love.

³³ Sell that ye have and geve almes. And make you bagges which wexe not olde and treasure that fayleth not in heaven where noo these commeth nether moth corrupteth.

¹ As he behelde he sawe the ryche men how they cast in their offeringes into the treasury. ² And he sawe also a certayne povre widdowe which cast in thyther two mites. ³ And he sayde: of a trueth I saye vnto you this poore wyddowe hath put in moare then they all. ⁴ For they all have of their superfluyte added vnto the offerynge of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the substaunce that she had.

⁷ And let every man do accordynge as he hath purposed in his herte not groudgyngly or of necessite. For god loveth a chearfull gever.

¹⁷ Whosoever hath this worldes good and seith his brother have neade: and shutteth vp his copassion from him: how dwelleth the love of God in him?

¹ Whe soever therfore thou gevest thine almes thou shalt not make a tropet to be blowe before the as ye ypocrites do in the synagogis and in the stretis for to be preysed of men. Verely I say vnto you they have their rewarde. ² But whe thou doest thine almes let not thy lyfte had knowe what thy righte had doth ³ yt thine almes may be secret: and thy father which seith in secret shall rewarde ye opely. ⁴ And when thou prayest thou shalt not be as ye ypocrytes are. For they love to stond and praye in the synagoges and in the corners of ye stretes because they wolde be sene of men. Verely I saye vnto you they haue their rewarde.

¹⁶ To do good and to distribute forget not for with suche sacrifises god is pleased.

³⁵ I have shewed you all thinges how that so laborynge ye ought to receave the weake and to remember the wordes of the Lorde Iesu howe that he sayde: It is more blessed to geve then to receave.
