²⁸ And it shall come to pass after these things that I will pour out a portion of my spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy; and your old men shall dream dreams; and your young men shall see visions. ²⁹ And on my servants and on my hand maids in those days I will pour out a portion of my spirit. ³⁰ And I will exhibit wonders in heaven and on the earth, blood and fire and smoky vapour. ³¹ The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and illustrious day of the Lord. ³² But whoever will call on the name of the Lord shall be saved; for on mount Sion and in Jerusalem shall be the Saviour, as the Lord hath said, and the publishers of glad tidings, whom the Lord hath called.

³ But he who prophesieth, speaketh to men edification, and exhortation, and consolation.

⁷ Seeing the Lord will not do any thing without giving warning to his servants;

¹⁶ But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel, ¹⁷ "And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, that I will pour out a portion of my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy; and your young men shall see visions; and your old men shall dream dreams; ¹⁸ and upon my servants, and upon my handmaids, in those days I will pour out a portion of my spirit, and they shall prophesy: ¹⁹ and I will exhibit wonders in the heaven above, and signs on the earth beneath; blood and fire and smoky vapour. ²⁰ The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and illustrious day of the Lord. ²¹ And it shall come to pass, that whoever will call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

²¹ for prophecy was not uttered in former days at the will of man; but the holy men of God spoke by an impulse of the holy spirit.
