¹ A Song of the steps. Out of depths to thee, Lord, I cried; ² Lord, hearken to my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the sound of my prayer. ³ Shouldst thou, Lord, mark iniquities; Lord, who can subsist? ⁴ Because there is forgiveness with thee, for thy name's sake, ⁵ I have waited for thee, Lord: my soul hath waited for thy word; ⁶ my soul hath hoped for the Lord, from the morning watch till night. ⁷ Let Israel hope in the Lord, for with the Lord there is mercy, and with him plenteous redemption. ⁸ And he himself will redeem Israel from all their iniquities.

⁹ If we confess our sins, He is faithful, and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
