A Song of the steps. Out of depths to thee, Lord, I cried;
Lord, hearken to my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the sound of my prayer.
Shouldst thou, Lord, mark iniquities; Lord, who can subsist?
Because there is forgiveness with thee, for thy name's sake,
I have waited for thee, Lord: my soul hath waited for thy word;
my soul hath hoped for the Lord, from the morning watch till night.
Let Israel hope in the Lord, for with the Lord there is mercy, and with him plenteous redemption.
And he himself will redeem Israel from all their iniquities.
