⁷ With their whole fleet they could not carry the first skin of his tail, nor his head in their fishing barks.

²⁴ And when they were come to Capernaum, the receivers of the assessments for the Temple came to Peter, and said, Doth your teacher pay the didrachm? ²⁵ He saith, Yes. And when he came into the house, before he spake, Jesus said to him, What thinkest thou Simon? Of whom do the kings of the earth receive assessments? Of their own sons or of others? ²⁶ Peter saith to him, Of others. Jesus saith to him, The sons then surely are free. ²⁷ However, that we may not offend them, go to the sea, and throw in a hook, and take the first fish that cometh up; and having opened its mouth thou wilt find a stater: take that and give it to them for me and thee.

⁶ Then he said to them, Cast the net on the right side of the vessel and you will find. So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it up, by reason of the multitude of fishes.

²⁸ And God blessed them saying, "Increase and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the air, and all the cattle, and all the earth, and all the reptiles which creep on the earth."

⁹ so that every of the animals which breed in all the places whithersoever the stream cometh, shall live, and there shall be fish there in great abundance, Because this water is come there and healeth, therefore they shall live. Every thing to which the stream cometh shall live. ¹⁰ And fishermen shall there take a stand, from Engadin to Enagallim. There shall be a place for drying nets. The nets shall be of a peculiar kind; and the fishes thereof shall be like the fishes of the great sea; a very great multitude.

⁶ And, having done this, they enclosed such a great multitude of fishes that their net began to break.

¹⁴ And after John's imprisonment, Jesus went to Galilee, proclaiming the glad tidings of the reign of God, ¹⁵ and saying, The time is accomplished, and the reign of God is at hand. Reform and confide in this good news. ¹⁶ And as he was walking along the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon, and Andrew his brother, casting a drag net, into the sea; for they were fishermen; ¹⁷ and Jesus said to them, Come with me and I will make you fishers of men. ¹⁸ Thereupon they straightway left their nets and followed him. ¹⁹ And going thence a little further, he saw James, the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who were in the vessel, mending the nets. ²⁰ And soon as he called them, they left their father Zebedee in the vessel, with the hired servants, and went after him.

⁴ And when he had done speaking, he said to Simon, Row into deep water, and let down your nets for a draught. ⁵ Upon which Simon, answering, said to him, Master, we have been toiling all night, and have caught nothing. However, at thy word, I will let down the net. ⁶ And, having done this, they enclosed such a great multitude of fishes that their net began to break.

³ Simon Peter saith to them, I am going a fishing. They say to him, We will go with thee. They went and presently got aboard the vessel, and that night caught nothing.

⁴⁷ Again the kingdom of the heavens is like a sweep net cast into the sea, which enclosed fishes of every kind,

¹⁹ and he said to them, Follow me and I will make you fishers of men.
