⁴² and continued stedfast in the doctrine of the apostles and in the community, and in the breaking of the loaf, and in prayers,

⁴⁴ Now all they who believed were together, and had all things in common; ⁴⁵ and they sold their possessions and goods and distributed them to all, as any had need. ⁴⁶ And continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they partook of food with joy and singleness of heart, ⁴⁷ praising God and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added daily to the congregation them who were cured.

²¹ that all may be one as thou, Father, art in me and I in thee, that they also may be one in us that the world may believe that thou hast sent me, ²² and that I have given them the glory which thou gavest me, that they may be one as we are one ²³ I in them and thou in me, that they may be taken into union, and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them as thou hast loved me.

¹² that is, to partake of consolation among you by the faith which is mutually in us, both yours and my own.

³⁰ because we are members of his body; of his flesh and of his bones.

⁷ But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have communion with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his son cleanseth us from all sin.

⁸ Finally, be all of one mind, sympathising with one another, full of brotherly love, compassionate, courteous

²⁰ For where two or three are assembled for my name I am there in the midst of them.

² Bear one another's burdens and so fulfil the law of the Christ.

¹⁷ Iron sharpeneth iron, but a man exasperateth the face of a companion.

³ that which we have seen and heard, we announce to you, that you also may have communion with us. Now this communion of ours is with the Father, and with his son Jesus Christ.

²⁴ and let us observe one another, in order to excite love and good works,

⁹ two are better than one. They have a better reward for their labour. ¹⁰ For if they chance to fall the one can raise up his fellow. But alas for him who is alone, when he falleth and hath not another to raise him up. ¹¹ Again if two lie together they have warmth: but how can one be warm who is alone? ¹² Again though one should be strong the two may withstand him, and a three fold cord cannot easily be broken.

²⁵ not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the custom of some, but comforting one another; and so much the more as you see the day approaching.

¹¹ therefore comfort one another, and edify one another, as indeed you do.
