¹⁶ For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him may not perish, but have everlasting life.

³¹ But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing, you may have life by his name.

⁵ Since all the words of God are tried, and he is a shield to them who revere him;

¹ Now when the day of pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in the same place. ² And suddenly there came from heaven a sound as of a mighty rushing wind, which filled the whole house where they were sitting. ³ And there appeared to them separate tongues, as of fire, and it settled on each of them. ⁴ And they were all filled with a holy spirit and began to speak in different languages, as the spirit gave them to make solemn addresses.

¹³ and by whom you also, when you heard the word of this truth, the glad tidings of this salvation of yours"by whom you indeed, when you believed, were sealed with the spirit of the promise

²² But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness,

¹⁴ Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John, ¹⁵ who having gone down, prayed for them that they might receive a holy spirit. ¹⁶ For it had not yet fallen on any of them, and they were only baptized to the name of the Lord Jesus. ¹⁷ Then they laid their hands on them and they received a holy spirit.

⁶ for which cause I remind thee to kindle up that gift of God which is in thee by the laying on of my hands.

²² And having said this he breathed on them, and saith to them, Receive a holy spirit.
