⁶ Let no one deceive you with vain discourses; for on the account of these things the wrath of God is coining on these children of disobedience, ⁷ be not ye8 therefore partakers with them. ⁸ For you were formerly darkness, but being now a light in the Lord, walk as children of light ⁹ [for the fruit of this light consists of goodness and righteousness and truth of every sort] ¹⁰ proving what is well pleasing to the Lord. ¹¹ And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them: ¹² for as to the things done by them in secret, it is shameful even to mention them.

⁷ And when you pray, use not a vain multiplicity of words as the heathen do. For they think they shall be heard for their much speaking.
