John 6:50-71

50 this is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. 51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if any one eats of this bread, he shall live forever; and the bread which I will give for the life of the world is my flesh. 52 (9:6) Then the Jews contended one with another, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? 53 Then Jesus said to them, I tell you most truly, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 He that eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is the true food, and my blood is the true drink. 56 He that eats my flesh and drinks my blood continues in me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father sent me and I live by the Father, so he that eats me shall live by me. 58 This is the bread which came down from heaven; not as your fathers eat and died, he that eats this bread shall live forever. 59 These things he said in a synagogue, teaching in Capernaum. 60 (9:7) Then many of his disciples hearing him said, This is a hard saying; who can hear him? 61 And Jesus knowing in himself that his disciples complained of this, said to them, Does this offend you? 62 [What], then if you should see the Son of man ascend where he was formerly? 63 The Spirit is that which makes alive; the flesh profits nothing; the words which I have spoken to you are spirit and life. 64 But there are some of you who believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who he was that would betray him. 65 And on that account he said, I told you that no one can come to me unless it has been given him by my Father. 66 (9:8) From this time many of his disciples went away from following him, and walked no more with him. 67 Then Jesus said to the twelve Will you also go away? 68 Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? you have words of eternal life, 69 and we have believed and know that you are the Holy [Son] of God. 70 He answered them, Have I not chosen you twelve? and of you one is a devil. 71 But he spoke of Judas the son of Simon Iscariot, for he was about to betray him, being one of the twelve.

John 20:19-23

19 (22:3) Then when it was evening, on that first day of the week, and the doors were shut where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, Peace be to you. 20 And having said this he showed them both his hands and his side; then the disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. 21 Then he said to them again, Peace be to you; as the Father has sent me, I also send you. 22 And having said this he breathed on them, and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 Those whose sins you forgive, are forgiven; and whose you retain, are retained.

1 Corinthians 3:15-17

15 if any one's work is consumed, he shall suffer loss, and he shall be saved, but so as by fire. 16 (1:8) Know you not that you are a temple of God and the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17 If any one destroys the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God which you are is holy.

1 Corinthians 7:32-34

32 But I wish you to be without cares. The unmarried man cares for the things of the Lord, how he shall please the Lord; 33 but he that is married cares for the things of the world, how he shall please the wife. 34 And the wife and the virgin are different; the unmarried woman cares for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy in body and spirit; but she that is married cares for the things of the world, how she shall please the husband.

James 2:14-26

14 (1:7) What is the profit, my brothers, if a man says he has faith, but has not works? Can faith save him? 15 And if a brother or sister is naked, or destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, Go in peace, be warmed and be filled, but gives them not the necessary supplies for the body, what is the profit? 17 So also faith, if it has not works, is dead, being alone. 18 But some one will say, You have faith, and I have works; show me your faith without works, and I will show you my faith by works. 19 You believe that there is one God? You do well; demons also believe and tremble. 20 But will you know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar? 22 You see that faith cooperated with his works, and by works was faith made perfect, 23 and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, And Abraham believed God and it was accounted to him a righteousness, and he was called God's friend. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works and not by faith only. 25 And in like manner also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? 26 For as the body without a spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

1 Corinthians 3:11-15

11 For no one can lay another foundation besides that laid, which is Christ Jesus. 12 And if any man builds on this foundation, gold, silver, precious stones, wood, grass, reeds, 13 each one's work shall be manifest; for the day shall show it, because it shall be revealed by fire, and the same fire shall try every man's work what it is. 14 If any one's work continues which he has built, he shall receive a reward; 15 if any one's work is consumed, he shall suffer loss, and he shall be saved, but so as by fire.

1 Corinthians 7:10-11

10 But the married I charge, not I, but the Lord, Let not a wife separate from her husband, 11 and also if she is separated let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to the husband, and let not a husband leave his wife.
