⁴ and endurance develops a tested character, and a tested character develops hope,

¹⁹ I wish you to know this, my beloved brethren: Every man must be quick to hear, but slow to speak, slow to anger.

¹⁹ For this is grace if for conscience toward God any one bears pain, suffering unjustly. ²⁰ For what credit is it if when you sin and are struck with the fist you are patient? ⁶ Do not worry, but in everything by prayer and entreaty with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

²⁵ But if we hope for what we do not see, we patiently wait for it.

⁹ Let us not grow discouraged in doing what is noble, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow faint.
