²⁸ But I say to you that every one who looks at a woman with lustful thoughts has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

³³ The married man is anxious about the things of the world — how he may please his wife,

³¹ "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother and shall cleave to his wife and the two shall become one flesh.

²⁸ Thus ought men to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself,

⁷ In the same way, you husbands must live with your wives wisely, since woman's sex is weaker, but you must give them honor as fellow heirs of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.

²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it,

¹⁹ Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh toward them.
