¹⁵ Do not love the world, nor the things in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. ¹⁶ For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

¹³ I can do all things through him who strengthens me. ¹⁴ Nevertheless, you have done well to share in my affliction.

¹² For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against authorities, against the powers of darkness of this world, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. ¹³ Therefore, take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand on the evil day, and having done all, to stand. ¹⁴ Stand therefore, having your loins girded about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; ¹⁵ And your feet shod with the readiness that is from the gospel of peace.
