Bible verses about "weddings" | RKJNT

Ephesians 5:21-33

21 Submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ. 22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church, his body: and he himself is its saviour. 24 Therefore, as the church is subject to Christ, so let wives be to their own husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church, and gave himself up for her; 26 That he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water through the word, 27 That he might present her to himself a glorious church, without spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that she should be holy and without blemish. 28 So husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no man ever hated his own flesh; but he nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church: 30 Because we are members of his body. 31 For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother, and be joined to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33 Nevertheless, let every one of you love his wife as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

Mark 7:13

13 Thus making the word of God invalid through your tradition, which you have handed down: and you do many such things.

Matthew 22:1-14

1 And Jesus answered and spoke to them again in parables, and said, 2 The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king, who gave a marriage feast for his son, 3 And sent forth his servants to call those who were invited to the marriage feast: but they would not come. 4 Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell those who are invited, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fat calves have been killed, and all things are ready: come to the marriage feast. 5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his business: 6 And the rest took his servants, and treated them spitefully, and killed them. 7 The king was angry, and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned their city. 8 Then he said to his servants, The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy. 9 Therefore, go into the highways, and as many as you shall find, invite to the marriage feast. 10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding hall was filled with guests. 11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man who had no wedding garment: 12 And he said to him, Friend, how did you come in here not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. 13 Then the king said to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

1 Peter 3:1-10

1 Likewise, you wives, be in subjection to your husbands; so that, if any do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the behaviour of the wives; 2 When they behold your chaste and reverent behaviour. 3 Let your beauty not be in outward adornment; the plaiting of hair, the wearing of gold, or the putting on of apparel; 4 But let it be of the inner person of your heart, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God. 5 For in this manner the holy women in days of old, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, and were submissive to their husbands. 6 Thus Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: and you are her daughters, if you do right, and do not give way to fear. 7 Likewise, you husbands, live with your wives considerately, giving honour to the woman as the weaker vessel, since you are heirs together of the grace of life. Do this that your prayers may not be hindered. 8 Finally, be of one mind, have sympathy for one another, love as brethren, be compassionate, be humble. 9 Do not return evil for evil, or insult for insult: but instead with blessing; knowing that you were called to this, that you should inherit a blessing. 10 For, He who would love life, and see good days, let him restrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking guile:
