⁷ And preached, saying, After me there comes one mightier than I, the thong of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie.

¹¹ I baptize you with water for repentance: but he who comes after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry: he shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit, and with fire.

²¹ For to this you were called: because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps.

²² But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and sandals on his feet:

¹⁵ And how shall they preach, unless they are sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of those who bring glad tidings of good things!

¹⁵ And your feet shod with the readiness that is from the gospel of peace.

³³ Then the Lord said to him, Take the sandals off your feet: for the place where you stand is holy ground.
