³⁷ Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. ³⁸ This is the first and greatest commandment. ³⁹ And the second is like it, You shall love your neighbour as yourself. ⁴⁰ On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

⁴⁴ You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature: for he is a liar, and the father of lies.

¹⁹ Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God, and that you are not your own? ²⁰ For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.

¹⁵ Do you not know that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of a prostitute? Never. ¹⁶ Or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her? for the two, he says, shall become one flesh. ¹⁷ But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him. ¹⁸ Flee sexual immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside his body; but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. ¹⁹ Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God, and that you are not your own? ²⁰ For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.

² In which you walked in times past, according to the ways of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience.

²³ For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;

⁴⁶ And why do you call me, Lord, Lord, and do not do the things which I say?

²⁹ Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

²³ For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

⁹ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

¹⁵ If you love me, you will keep my commandments.

¹ But know this also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. ² For men shall be lovers of their own selves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, ³ Without natural affection, implacable, false accusers, intemperate, fierce, despisers of good, ⁴ Treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God; ⁵ Holding to a form of godliness, but denying its power. From such men turn away. ⁶ For among them are those who creep into houses, and lead captive weak-willed women laden with sins, led away by various desires, ⁷ Ever learning, but never able to acknowledge the truth.

¹⁴ But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away and enticed by his own lust. ¹⁵ Then when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin: and sin, when it is fully-grown, brings forth death.
