Ephesians 5:1-33

1 Therefore be imitators of God, as dear children; 2 And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us, and has given himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice, a sweet smelling aroma to God. 3 But sexual immorality, and all impurity, or covetousness, must not even be named among you, as is befitting saints; 4 Nor let there be filthiness, or foolish talk, or coarse jesting, which are not proper: but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this you know: that no sexually immoral or impure person, or covetous man, (for such a man is an idolater,) has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore, do not be partakers with them. 8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord: walk as children of light; 9 (For the fruit of the Spirit consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) 10 And try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. 11 Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them, 12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done by the disobedient in secret. 13 But all things that are exposed by the light become visible: for everything that is made visible is light. 14 Therefore he says, Awaken, you who sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light. 15 See then that you walk carefully, not as fools, but as wise men, 16 Making the most of the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore, do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not be drunk with wine, which is debauchery; but be filled with the Spirit; 19 Speaking to one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; 20 Always giving thanks for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; 21 Submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ. 22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church, his body: and he himself is its saviour. 24 Therefore, as the church is subject to Christ, so let wives be to their own husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church, and gave himself up for her; 26 That he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water through the word, 27 That he might present her to himself a glorious church, without spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that she should be holy and without blemish. 28 So husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no man ever hated his own flesh; but he nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church: 30 Because we are members of his body. 31 For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother, and be joined to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33 Nevertheless, let every one of you love his wife as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

Matthew 12:36

36 But I say to you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account of on the day of judgment.

Matthew 15:11

11 Not that which goes into the mouth defiles a man; but that which comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.

James 3:10

10 Out of the same mouth proceeds blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.

Ephesians 4:29

29 Let no corrupt words proceed out of your mouth, but only that which is good for edifying, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

Colossians 3:8

8 But now put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and filthy speech from your mouth.
