²³ For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹¹ Not that I speak from want: for I have learned, in whatever state I am, to be content. ¹² I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound: in all circumstances I have learned how to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. ¹³ I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

⁶ But godliness with contentment is great gain. ⁷ For we brought nothing into this world, and we can carry nothing out. ⁸ But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with these. ⁹ But those who want to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful desires, which plunge men into ruin and destruction.

¹⁰ Therefore, for Christ's sake, I take pleasure in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in distresses: for when I am weak, then I am strong.

⁵ Let your lives be free from the love of money; and be content with such things as you have: for he has said, I will never leave you, nor forsake you.
