Luke 24:13-35

13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was about seven miles from Jerusalem. 14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened. 15 And it came to pass, that, while they were conversing and discussing, Jesus himself drew near, and went along with them. 16 But their eyes were kept from recognizing him. 17 And he said to them, What is it that you are discussing with each other as you walk? And they stood still, looking downcast. 18 And one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answered him, Are you the only visitor in Jerusalem who does not know the things which have come to pass there in these days? 19 And he said to them, What things? And they said to him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people: 20 And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and have crucified him. 21 But we trusted that it was he who would redeem Israel: and beside all this, today is the third day since these things happened. 22 Yea, and certain women of our company astonished us, for they were at the tomb early; 23 And they did not find his body. They came back, saying that they had seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive. 24 And certain of those who were with us went to the tomb, and found it just as the women had said: but him they did not see. 25 Then he said to them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: 26 Was it not necessary for the Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? 27 And beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he explained to them all the things concerning himself in the scriptures. 28 And they drew near to the village, where they were going: and he acted as though he would have gone farther. 29 But they urged him strongly, saying, Stay with us: for it is getting toward evening, and the day is nearly over. And he went in to stay with them. 30 And it came to pass, as he was at table with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and broke it, and gave it to them. 31 And their eyes were opened, and they recognized him; and he vanished out of their sight. 32 And they said to one another, Did not our hearts burn within us, while he talked with us along the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures? 33 They rose up that same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, along with those who were with them, 34 Saying, The Lord has risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon. 35 And they told what had happened on the road, and how he was recognized by them in the breaking of bread.

1 Corinthians 7:15

15 But if the unbelieving one departs, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: for God has called us to peace.

1 Peter 1:22

22 Since you have purified your souls by obeying the truth, so you have a sincere love of the brethren; love one another fervently from the heart.

John 15:1-6

1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away: and every branch that bears fruit, he prunes it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 3 Now you are clean through the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine; neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine, you are the branches: He who abides in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing. 6 If a man does not abide in me, he is thrown away as a branch, and withers; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

Hebrews 13:4

4 Marriage is to be held in honour by all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled: for the sexually immoral and adulterers God will judge.
