¹⁴ For many are called, but few are chosen.

²⁰ And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no one would be saved: but for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, he has shortened the days. ²¹ And then if any man says to you, Lo, here is the Christ; or, lo, there he is; do not believe him: ²² For false Christs and false prophets shall arise, and shall show signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. ²³ But take heed: behold, I have told you all things in advance. ²⁴ But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, ²⁵ And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. ²⁶ And then they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

⁷⁰ Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

¹⁵ But when it pleased God, who set me apart from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,

⁴⁸ And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were appointed for eternal life believed.

²⁸ And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to his purpose.

¹² Therefore, as the chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on hearts of mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience;

⁸ And all who live upon the earth shall worship him, every one whose name is not written in the book of life of the Lamb that was slain from the foundation of the world.

⁴ Just as he has chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him. In love

²⁸ And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to his purpose. ²⁹ For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. ³⁰ And whom he predestined, those he also called: and whom he called, those he also justified: and whom he justified, those he also glorified.

⁹ But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God; that you should declare the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.

⁴ Just as he has chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him. In love ⁵ He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to his good pleasure and will,

¹⁶ You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and appointed you to go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: so that whatever you shall ask from the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
