Bible verses about "eunuchs" | Noyes

Romans 1:25-29

25 because they changed the true God for false gods, and adored and worshipped created things rather than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women indulged in unnatural lust, 27 and in like manner the men also, neglecting the natural use of the female, burned with lust for one another, men with men practising that which is shameful, and receiving in themselves the due recompense of their error. 28 And as they did not choose to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do things which are shameful; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, malice, covetousness, wickedness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malignity; backbiters,

Acts 10:35

35 but in every nation he that feareth him and worketh righteousness is acceptable to him

1 Corinthians 7:29-40

29 But this I say, brethren, the time that remaineth is short; that both they that have wives may be as though they had none; 30 and they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not; 31 and they that use this world as not abusing it; for the outward condition of this world is passing away; 32 and I would have you free from anxious cares. He that is unmarried careth about the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord; 33 but he that is married careth about the things of the world, how to please his wife. 34 There is a difference also between a wife and a virgin; the unmarried woman careth about the things of the Lord, to be holy, both in body and in spirit; but she that is married careth about the things of the world, how to please her husband. 35 And this I say for your own profit; not to cast a noose over you, but with a view to what is becoming, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction. 36 But if any one thinketh that he behaveth improperly in respect to his virgin [daughter], if she pass the flower of her age [without being married], and if it must be so, let him do what he will, he committeth no sin; let them marry. 37 But if any one is settled in his purpose, and is under no necessity, but is free to act as he will, and hath determined in his heart to keep his own virgin daughter [unmarried], he doeth well. 38 So then he that giveth her in marriage doeth well; and he that doth not give her in marriage doeth better. 39 The wife is bound to her husband as long as he liveth; but if her husband die, she is free to marry whom she will, only in the Lord. 40 But she is happier if she remain as she is, in my opinion; and I too think that I have the Spirit of God.

Acts 10:34-35

34 And Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is not a respecter of persons, 35 but in every nation he that feareth him and worketh righteousness is acceptable to him

Acts 8:26-29

26 But an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, Arise, and go towards the south, to the way that goeth down from Jerusalem to Gaza. This is a desert way. 27 And he arose and went; and lo! a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch, a high officer of Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem to worship, 28 was returning and sitting in his chariot; and he was reading the prophet Isaiah. 29 And the Spirit said to Philip, Go near and join thyself to this chariot.

Matthew 19:9-12

9 And I say to you, Whoever putteth away his wife, except for fornication, and marrieth another, committeth adultery. 10 The disciples say to him, If such be the case of a man with his wife, it is not good to marry. 11 But he said to them, All cannot receive this saying, but they only to whom it is given. 12 For there are eunuchs, who were so born from their mothers womb; and there are eunuchs, who were made eunuchs by men; and there are eunuchs, who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

Acts 8:26-39

26 But an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, Arise, and go towards the south, to the way that goeth down from Jerusalem to Gaza. This is a desert way. 27 And he arose and went; and lo! a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch, a high officer of Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem to worship, 28 was returning and sitting in his chariot; and he was reading the prophet Isaiah. 29 And the Spirit said to Philip, Go near and join thyself to this chariot. 30 And Philip ran up, and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, Well, but dost thou understand what thou art reading? 31 And he said, How can I, unless some one shall guide me? And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. 32 And the passage of the scripture which he was reading was this: "He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so he openeth not his mouth. 33 In his humiliation judgment was refused him; and who shall describe his generation? for his life is taken away from the earth." 34 And the eunuch answering said, I pray thee, of whom doth the prophet say this? Of himself, or of some other man? 35 And Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this scripture declared to him the glad tidings concerning Jesus. 36 And as they went along the road, they came to a certain water; and the eunuch saith, See, here is water; what is there to hinder my being baptized? 37 (...)38 And he commanded that the chariot should stop; and they both went down into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. 39 But when they had come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip; and the eunuch saw him no more, for he went on his way rejoicing.

Matthew 19:12

12 For there are eunuchs, who were so born from their mothers womb; and there are eunuchs, who were made eunuchs by men; and there are eunuchs, who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.
