⁴¹ Then will he say also to those on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into the everlasting fire, which is prepared for the Devil and his angels.

³¹ Simon, Simon, lo! Satan hath asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. ³² But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not. And do thou, when thou hast returned to me, strengthen thy brethren.

¹³ Let no one when he is tempted, say, I am tempted by God; for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he tempteth no one. ¹⁴ But each one is tempted when by his own lust he is led away and enticed; ¹⁵ then lust, having conceived, bringeth forth sin, and sin, when completed, bringeth forth death.

⁹ And the great dragon was cast down, the old serpent, called the Devil and Satan, who deceiveth the whole world; he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him.

¹⁰ The thief cometh not but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy; I came that they might have life, and have abundance.

¹³ No temptation hath come upon you, but such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted beyond what ye are able to endure, but will with the temptation furnish also the way to escape, that ye may be able to endure it.

¹⁰ And the Devil who deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where are also the beast and the false prophet; and they will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

⁴⁴ Ye are of your father the Devil, and what your father desireth ye are ready to do. He was a murderer from the beginning; and he abideth not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh from his own nature; for he is a liar, and the father of it.

¹¹ Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the Devil; ¹² for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the worldrulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of evil in the heavenly regions.

¹⁴ And no wonder; for even Satan transformeth himself into an angel of light.

⁷ Submit yourselves therefore to God; resist the Devil, and he will flee from you.

For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the Devil. ⁹ Whoever hath been born of God doth not commit sin, because his seed abideth in him; and he cannot sin, because he hath been born of God. ¹⁰ In this are manifest the children of God and the children of the Devil. Whoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, and he that loveth not his brother.

⁸ Be sober, be watchful. Your adversary the Devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour;
