¹⁸ »Remember that Jehovah your God gives you the strength to make a living. That is how he keeps the promise he made to your fathers.

⁸ »This Book of the Law will not depart out of your mouth. You must meditate (intensely study) (think deeply) on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. Then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

¹ Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of the scornful mockers. ² But his delight is in the law of Jehovah (YHWH), and on his law he meditates (ponders) (speaks softly with deep thought) (studies) (contemplates) day and night. ³ He is like a tree planted by streams of water. It yields its fruit in season and its leaves do not wither. Whatever he does prospers. ⁴ This is not so for the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. ⁵ Therefore the wicked will not stand (be upright) in the judgment. The sinners will not stand (endure) in the assembly of the righteous. ⁶ Jehovah knows (is fully aware of) the way of the righteous. But the way of the wicked will perish.

³ Do not let kindness and truth leave you. Bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart. ⁴ You will find kindness and understanding in the sight of God and man.

²⁶ »What will a man profit, if he gains the whole world, and gives up his life? What will a man give in exchange for his life?

¹⁰ »Whoever is faithful in little things will be faithful in large ones. Whoever is unrighteous in small things will be unrighteous in large ones. ¹¹ »If you have not been faithful in handling worldly wealth, how can you be trusted with true wealth?

⁶ Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

⁵ »No man will be able to resist you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses I will be with you. I will not fail you nor forsake you. ⁶ »Be strong and courageous for you will help this people inherit the land. This is the land I swore to give to their fathers. ⁷ »Be strong and very courageous, that you may be careful to do according to all the Law, which Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. ⁸ »This Book of the Law will not depart out of your mouth. ³ »Do what Jehovah your God orders you to do. Obey all his laws and commands, as written in the Law of Moses. That way wherever you go you may prosper in everything you do.

⁵ Trust in Jehovah with all your heart. Do not lean on your own understanding.

¹⁰ »‘Do not fear for I am with you! Do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.’

¹¹ ‘I know the plans (intentions) (thoughts) that I have for you, says Jehovah. They are plans (intentions) for peace and not disaster. They are intentions to give you a future filled with hope.

² Do not be conformed to this world (religious, social, political, and economic arrangement). But be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Prove what is the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God.

²⁵ »I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink. And do not worry about your body, what you will wear. Is life worth more than food? And is the body worth more than clothes? ²⁶ »Look at the birds of the sky, they do not sow, nor reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you worth more than they? ²⁷ »Can you live longer by worrying about it? ²⁸ »Why are you worried about clothing? Look at how the lilies of the field grow. They do not toil. They do not spin. ²⁹ »I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory was dressed like these. ³⁰ »If God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, won’t he care for you even more? You of little faith! ³¹ »Do not worry! Do not say: ‘What shall we eat?’ or, ‘What shall we drink?’ or, ‘What shall we wear?’ ³² »All people go in search of these things. Your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. ³³ »Seek (desire) (require) (serve) first the kingdom of God and his righteousness [continuously] and all these things will be added to you.

¹⁰ Humble yourselves in the presence of God, and he will exalt you.

¹ My son, do not forget my law. Let your heart obey my commandments. ² My precepts will give you a long, peaceful, and prosperous life. ³ Do not let kindness and truth leave you. Bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart. ⁴ You will find kindness and understanding in the sight of God and man.

⁴ Be happy with Jehovah and he will provide you with the desires of your heart.

³ Commit your works to Jehovah and your thoughts will be firmly established.
