Luke 14:10

10 »When you are invited, take the place of least honor. Then, when your host comes, he will tell you, friend, move to a more honorable place. And the other guests will see how you are honored.

Romans 12:9-11

9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor evil and cling to good. 10 Be devoted to one another with brotherly love, in honor preferring one another. 11 Do not lag behind in diligence. Be fervent in spirit serving God.

Acts 10:34-35

34 Peter opened his mouth, and said, »I truly perceive that God shows no partiality. 35 »In every nation he accepts every person who respects him and does what is right.

Romans 2:7-16

7 [He offers] everlasting life for those who search for incorruptible glory and honor by enduring in good works. 8 Those who are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, will receive wrath and indignation. 9 [There will be] tribulation and distress on every person who works evil, for the Jew first and for the Greek. 10 [There will be] glory, honor and peace to every one who does good works, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. 11 God is not partial! (God does not play favorites!) 12 For all who have sinned without law will perish without law. All who have sinned under law will be judged under law. 13 The hearers of the law are not righteous before God, but the doers of the law will be righteous. 14 When those of the nations, who have no law, practice by nature the things of the law they are a law to themselves even though they do not have any law. 15 They show the work of the law written in their hearts. Their conscience also bears witness, and their thoughts accuse or excuse them. 16 This is in the day when God will judge the secrets of men, according to my good news, by Jesus Christ.

Romans 13:1-7

1 Let every person be subject to superior authorities. For there is no authority except by God. God allows the authorities to serve in their positions. 2 Whoever opposes the authority resists the ordinance of God. Those who resist will receive judgment. 3 For rulers are objects of fear, not to good works, but to the evil. Will you not have respect for the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from it. 4 He is the minister of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid for he does not bear the sword in vain. He is the minister of God, an avenger to execute wrath upon him that does evil. 5 You must be in subjection, not only because of that wrath, but also for the sake of your conscience. 6 That is why you pay taxes. They are God’s ministers continually serving this very purpose. 7 Render therefore to all their due. Provide tribute to whom tribute is due. Give custom to whom custom is owed. Render fear to whom fear is owed and offer honor to whom honor is deserved.

2 Corinthians 10:12-16

12 For we are not bold to number or compare ourselves with certain of them that commend themselves. But they measure themselves by themselves, and compare themselves with themselves. They are without understanding. 13 But we will not boast beyond our measure, but according to the measure of the province that God apportioned to us as a measure, to reach even to you. 14 For we are not overstretching ourselves though we did not reach to you. We reached out to you with the good news of Christ. 15 We did not boast beyond our assignment in other men's labors. Having hope that, as your faith grows, we shall be made great among you according to our territory for further abundance. 16 Let us preach the good news to the parts beyond you. Let us not boast in someone else’s territory in concerning things ready for our hand.

1 Thessalonians 5:12-13

12 We ask you, brothers, to appreciate those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you. 13 To esteem them very highly in love because of the work they do. And be at peace among yourselves.

25 For he who does wrong will receive the consequences of the wrong that he has done. There is no partiality.

32 »‘Show respect to the elderly, and honor older people. In this way you show respect for your God. I am Jehovah.
