²⁸ »In the last days I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams. Your young men will see visions! (Ac 2:17; Isa 44:3)

³⁶ »No one knows the day and the hour (the period of time). The angels of heaven do not know. The Son does not know. Only the Father knows!

¹⁶ »For God loved the world so much, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever has an active faith in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

²⁷ It is appointed to men once to die, but after this the judgment:

¹⁴ Continue in the things you have learned and have been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them. ¹⁵ From childhood you have known the sacred writings that are able to make you wise to salvation through faith that is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁶ God inspired all Scripture! It is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness. (Greek: theopneustos: God-breathed) ¹⁷ Thus the man of God may be completely equipped for every good work.

²⁷ It was God’s will to make known his secret to the people of the nations, this rich and glorious secret that he has for people. The secret is that Christ is in union with you, which means that you will share in his glory.

⁹ »Remember the former things, the things of long ago. I am God, and there is no other. I am God, and there is none like me. ¹⁰ »I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’

³ His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness. This is through the knowledge of him that called us by his own glory and virtue (excellence). ⁴ He offered us his precious and exceedingly great promises. Through these you may become partakers of the divine nature. You will escape from the corruption that is in the lust-filled world.

¹ I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, ² They should be made for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. ³ This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior. ⁴ It is God’s desire that all men have salvation and come to the full (precise) (accurate) (correct) knowledge (Greek: epignosis: recognition, discernment) of the truth. ⁵ There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. ⁶ He gave himself as a ransom for all. A witness was to be given at the right time. ⁷ Because of this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle. What I say is true, not false, and I am a teacher of the nations in the true faith. ⁸ I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without anger or argument. ⁹ Likewise I want women to be adorned in modest clothing, with modesty and soundness of mind; not with braided hair, and gold or pearls or costly clothes; ¹⁰ but that which becomes a woman professing godliness through good works. ¹¹ Let a woman learn in silence with all subjection. ¹² I do not permit a woman to teach or have dominion over a man, but to remain quiet. ¹³ Adam was first formed and then Eve. ¹⁴ Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived fell into transgression. ¹⁵ She will be saved through her childbearing, if they continue in faith, love, and sanctification with sobriety.

¹ This letter is from James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ. Greetings to the twelve tribes that are scattered. ² Count it all joy, my brothers, when you encounter various trials. ³ Know that the testing of your faith produces patience (endurance). ⁴ Let patience have its perfect work, that you may be mature, complete, and lacking in nothing. ⁵ If any of you lacks wisdom let him ask of God. He gives to all generously and without reproach and it will be given to him. ⁶ However he must ask in faith, not doubting: for he who doubts is like a surging wave of the sea driven by the wind and tossed. ⁷ Do not let that man think that he will receive anything from God. ⁸ A double-minded man is unstable (inconsistent) in all his ways. ⁹ Let the brother of humble circumstances glory in his high position (exaltation). ¹⁰ But the rich must be glad when God humbles them. This is because they will wither like wildflowers and pass away. ¹¹ The sun rises with scorching heat and withers the grass. The flower falls off and its beauty perishes. So also the rich man will fade away in his pursuits. ¹² The man who endures under trial is blessed. For when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life that God promised to those who love him. ¹³ Let no man say when he is tempted: »God tempts me.« God cannot be tempted with evil, and he tempts (entices) (tests) (trys) no one. ¹⁴ Each man is tempted when he is drawn away by his evil desire (lust). He is enticed (allured). ¹⁵ Then evil desires, when conceived, give birth to sin: and the sin, when it is full grown, brings forth death. ¹⁶ Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers. ¹⁷ Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above. It comes down from the Father of lights (truth and spiritual purity), with whom there is no variation. He does not change like shifting shadows. ¹⁸ Using his own will, he gave us birth through the word of truth. This way we would be a kind of first fruits of his creatures. ¹⁹ You know this, my beloved brothers. But let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger. ²⁰ The anger of man does not promote the righteousness of God. ²¹ Therefore get rid of all filthiness and wickedness. Receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save you. ²² Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, who deceive themselves. ²³ For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his natural face in a mirror. ²⁴ He sees himself, and goes away, and immediately forgets what manner of man he was. ²⁵ But he who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and so continues, being not a hearer who forgets but a doer who works, this man will be blessed in what he does. ²⁶ If any man thinks he is religious, while he does not control his tongue but deceives his heart, this man's religion is vain (worthless) (useless). ²⁷ Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to care for the fatherless persons and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself without spot from the world.

²⁹ »Some secret things are hidden. They belong to Jehovah our God. The things that have been revealed in these teachings belong to us and to our children forever. We must obey every word of this Law.

¹ Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of the scornful mockers. ² But his delight is in the law of Jehovah (YHWH), and on his law he meditates (ponders) (speaks softly with deep thought) (studies) (contemplates) day and night. ³ He is like a tree planted by streams of water. It yields its fruit in season and its leaves do not wither. Whatever he does prospers. ⁴ This is not so for the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. ⁵ Therefore the wicked will not stand (be upright) in the judgment. The sinners will not stand (endure) in the assembly of the righteous. ⁶ Jehovah knows (is fully aware of) the way of the righteous. But the way of the wicked will perish.

¹³ »When the Spirit of truth comes it will guide you to all truth for it will not speak from itself. It will speak the things it hears and declare to you the things that are to come.

⁷ »The Lord Jehovah will do nothing without revealing his secrets to his servants the prophets.

⁵ Trust in Jehovah with all your heart. Do not lean on your own understanding. ⁶ In all your ways acknowledge (recognize) Him and He will make your paths straight.
