²⁰ Noah, a man of the soil, planted a vineyard. ²¹ He drank some of its wine. He became drunk and lay undressed inside his tent. ²² Ham, father of Canaan, saw his father’s nakedness and told his two brothers outside. ²³ Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it across their shoulders. Then they walked in backward and covered their father’s nakedness. Their faces were turned the other way so that they would not see their father’s nakedness. ²⁴ Noah awoke from his wine and found out what his youngest son had done to him. ²⁵ He (Noah) said: »Canaan is cursed! He will be a lowly slave to his brothers.« ²⁶ He also said: »Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Shem! May Canaan be the slave of Shem. ²⁷ »May God extend the territory of Japheth. And may Japheth live in the tents of Shem, and may Canaan be his slave.« ²⁸ After the flood, Noah lived three hundred and fifty years. ²⁹ Noah lived a total of nine hundred and fifty years, and then he died.

⁷ Then the eyes of both of them were opened. They realized they were naked. They sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

¹⁰ He (Adam) answered: »I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.« ¹¹ And he said: »Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?«

²⁴ He even took off his clothes as he prophesied in front of Samuel. He lay there naked all day and all night. The saying: »Is Saul one of the prophets?« came from there.

²¹ He said: »I was born with nothing (naked), and I will die with nothing. Jehovah gave, and now he has taken away. Blessed be the name of Jehovah!«

² At that time Jehovah spoke through Isaiah son of Amoz. He said to him: »Take off the sackcloth from your body and the sandals from your feet.« He did this and went around stripped and barefoot. ³ Jehovah said: »Just as my servant Isaiah has gone stripped and barefoot for three years, as a sign and portent against Egypt and Cush, ⁴ so the king of Assyria will lead away stripped and barefoot the Egyptian captives and Cushite exiles, young and old, with buttocks bared to Egypt’s shame.

⁷ »Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into the house? When you see the naked, should you cover him and not hide yourself from your own flesh?

⁷ That disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter: »It is the Lord.« So when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he wrapped his coat about him (for he was dressed only in undergarments), and jumped into the sea.

¹ We know that if our earthly house (human body) (habitation of life) is destroyed; we have a building from God. It is an everlasting house in the heavens, not made with human hands. ² In this we sigh (in silent prayer), longing to be clothed with our habitation that is from heaven. ³ Indeed being clothed we will not be found naked. ⁴ While in this tabernacle we groan and sigh with prayer. We are concerned that we would be clothed with what is mortal and be swallowed up (devoured) by this life. ⁵ He that prepared us for this very purpose is God. He gave the Spirit to us as a guarantee (pledge) (security).

¹⁵ »Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he who stays awake and keeps his outer garment, that he does not walk naked and they see his shame.«

²¹ Jehovah God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them.

¹⁰ »The needy go about naked, without clothing; though hungry, they carry the sheaves.

Doing this is perverted. ¹⁸ »‘While your wife is living, never marry her sister as a rival wife and have sexual intercourse with her. ¹⁹ »‘Never have sexual intercourse with a woman while she is unclean during her monthly period. ²⁰ »‘Do not have sexual intercourse with your neighbor's wife and become unclean with her. ²¹ »‘Never give your children as sacrifices to the god Molech by burning them alive. If you do, you are dishonoring the name of your God. I am Jehovah! ²² »‘Do not have sexual intercourse with a man as with a woman. It is disgusting. ²³ »‘Do not have sexual intercourse with any animal and become unclean with it. A woman must never offer herself to an animal for sexual intercourse. It is unnatural.

²⁶ »Do not build an altar for me with steps leading up to it. If you do, you will expose yourselves as you go up the steps.«

⁷ »They lie all night naked, without clothing, and have no covering in the cold.

¹ »Come down and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon. Sit on the ground without a throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans! For you will no longer be called tender and delicate. ² »Take the millstones and grind meal. Remove your veil, strip off the skirt; uncover the leg and cross the rivers. ³ »Your nakedness will be uncovered and your shame will be exposed. I will take vengeance. No one can save you.

²⁸ »However, I tell you that whoever looks at a woman with lustful thoughts commits adultery with her in his heart.

²³ And those members of the body that we think to be less honorable, we offer these more honors. Our less acceptable parts have more abundant acceptability.

⁴² »Make linen undergarments to cover them down to their thighs.

⁹ Likewise I want women to be adorned in modest clothing, with modesty and soundness of mind; not with braided hair, and gold or pearls or costly clothes;

²⁵ The man and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.
